I still listen to the game music, but I'll eventually listen to my own.

http://www.pandora.com/?sc=sh206522600667525529

Basis: Soilwork. Refined over the last 7 months.

95% of the music I had got old. So glad I discovered Pandora.

Muse, Muse and more Muse. It suits the game more than anything i ever heard, besides the in game music of course. Listen to these songs in order while exping in Black Shroud lol. So epic. They are all 1 song pretty much. Exogenesis part 1 -2 - 3.

Also listen to all their older stuff. Just figured id post the songs i feel suit FF theme the most.

Best band of all time as far as im concerned. Up there with the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc. Listen to that right through and tell me that's not musical genius lol.

im the biggest muse fan ever!

but i wouldnt be so quick as to be easily wood by lovely strings and orchestral instruments. using such instruments does not mean the song is more 'genius' than a song using guitars or synths.
it's easy to fall under the spell of classical instrumental beauty, but writing it is like writing other genres.

I do definitely love the exogenesis trilogy, im just a balanced thinker. Muse is filled with genius, but exogenesis, while lovely, is simply filled with beautiful instruments and piano melodies. it isn't really 'genius', just beautiful. beauty isn't genius :)
bellamy is a gifted man, however. the true genius of the band is shown through a cast of other songs, in my opinion. exogenesis is lovely but not the pinnacle of the band. its easy to think that, because its got an orchestra in it, that its better than the rest, but that's simply holding classical instruments up on a pedestal :)

I listen to muse, arcade fire, other alt rock bands, and starcraft 2 terran music (along with starcraft 1 terran music, theme 1 2 and 3)

Various renditions of both "Somewhere over the rainbow" and "Feed my Frankenstein".

I've been listening to game music entirely thus far, because I really adore it.

I'm sure I'll shut it off in favor of itunes eventually, and then I'll just be a matter of what itunes decides.

Statistically, given the number of songs versus the rest of the library, it'll most likely be AFI, Thursday, Coheed and Cambria, Muse, Vienna Teng, or Damien Rice. Maybe a combination of all of the above!

Oh I agree. I was never saying Exogenesis was their best songs. I just found they suited the FFXIV theme the most. And yes, they are genius lol. Exogenesis basically tells the story of humanity. Not only is the instrumental music genius, but the lyrics are too.

I am probably a bigger Muse fan :p They are all I listen to. Well I sometimes listen to some oldschool Hendrix, Zeppelin, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd. But when I listen to them I usually end up putting Muse back on. I used to be a huge concert goer when I was younger. I've seen Muse live 6 times. I guess I hold something in my heart for Exogenesis Symphony because it blew me away live. Mind you ALL their songs blew me away live.

Favourite songs in no particular order:

Escape
New Born
Cave
Unintended
Stockholm Syndrome
Sing for Absolution
Knights of Cydonia
Butterflies and Hurricanes
Blackout
Take a Bow

I love em all but those are probably my top 10. The thing about Muse that sets them apart from other bands of this generation is their live show. They are literally the best live show I ever seen. And I've seen em all. Matt Bellamy is truelly a musical genius. Dominic Howard has to be one of the most technically sound drummers alive. And Chris has some pretty sick riffs.

I also like
AFI
1905
I hate myself
Circle takes the square
Saetia
and a lot of scremo, rock, metal, and punk bands.
I'm allowed to like lame girly pop music!

Okay, you've redeemed yourself.

This deserves being quoted. I bet Nobuo Uematsu would cry if he read that someone was listening to Hannah Montana instead of his awesome music. I have been listening to the in game music since it adds to the immersion.

I really enjoy the game's music.

Would like a sound effect for leveling up.

But you do get the fanfare 8 times every two day so that's something.

I only listen to the game music. As with all games Nobuo Uematsu has a hand, in the music is fantastic.. I absolutely love the battle themes in the La Noscea region. I will on occasion turn it off to enjoy the detailed sounds of the environment (especially in LL) but it comes right back on ;)

edit: Theres nothing wrong with Hannah Montana, Thats just good business. Whats wrong is how the majority of people who listen to music these days just buy into that stuff because its already popular. So There is something wrong with people.

Agreed :) I have all of their b-sides and unreleased songs and a lot of those are my favorites.
And their live show IS amazing, saw them in toronto months ago for the resistance tour :)
I was sad they didnt use lasers for Starlight at our show, though.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-j3clZRH3M&feature=related

they did for other songs though :)

I'm listening to the game's music right now. It's really good.

I don't even touch my itunes that much anymore, just Pandora or Slacker Radio.

As of late I've been listening to a lot of Azita, Stephin Merritt and...Usher.

You kids and your emo...back in my day...
