So I got open beta, and I installed it, and opened it up. First inital patch went without a hitch, and now file:h2010.08.30.2000 has my time at 26:45:54 downloaded at .01% and upload/download at 0.0b/s

It's been like this for two hours, on both of my computers. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Every time it times out. I went into the settings and made the file sharing from Auto to On, and it times out still.

Are your ports forwarded properly? I would suggest using uTorrent to get the patches, FFXIV places it's own torrent files in the patch folders (should be in the My Documents/My Games folders), you can use those with uTorrent to download them. From what I've researched, I've read that the FFXIV torrent updater tends to reset it's connections quite often, causing a much slower speed.

Also, reducing or shutting off your firewall while patching can help a lot with remote connections.

I checked my folder, and I saw no torrent files in there. I shut down my firewall, and am checking to see if it'll work now.

If not, should I call Square Enix?

I don't imagine they would have much live support available for a game in open beta. There should be a folder, located on your PC, that has patch content for FFXIV. What OS are you using? You could very easily just use the "Find Files or Folders" feature and actually search for the patch file (shown in the FFXIV Downloader window, ie. "D2010.09.05.200"). Try that to locate the files. Once you do, you can use uTorrent (freeware) to download them. Usually after they're downloaded, a reboot and then running the downloader with the patches placed "in" the patch folder for FFXIV will remedy and start the install.

Good luck ^_^;

These download resources should help you. He's got the file that you're getting stuck at there, too. Your updater should work if you just paste the files into the appropriate folders properly as per his instructions.

archain07 is quite awesome.

Thank you both. I am using XP and 7. Installing on two PC's same issue. Resolved the 7 issue except the download is slow. I found a torrent for 2010.08.30.blahblah and it's downloading much faster than their client. I will use that website to apply the patch.

Thank you both for the support. Rate ups are deserved.
