Mixing Classes to make a Red Mage? Follow

So while playing I was wondering how hard would it be to mix classes to have a Gladiator say, act more like a FFXI red mage? Using the sword and shield, and have heals and buffs?

Could we infact mix most of the abilities to make the classes we want?

I didnt do much melee, but if I mixed Conj and Thurga I was able to make a powerful white mage type character, although the mobs I was fighting in a group didnt need that kind of white mage.

Keep in mind that magic on a Disciple of War will be limited to single target, whether that target is you, someone else, or an enemy.

I think that's the idea, in XI the best of any job in a party was made by mixing your first and sub job. For the most part party battle roles are ill defined by a single class's abilities in XIV

from what i've seen alot has to do with the wep. like the wands and scepters all have high magi potency and low melee and vice versa for the melee ones but i've seen shield and also some arrows that have magical potency and maybe weps in the future like a sword or bow with high magic would be hot cause i have some ideas for a bow wielding battle bardish type set up. but yea this is still the begining so we'll see.

I agree that will hinder creating a red mage class, or any other kind of hybrid. I have a feeling however that traits will play a role in this. We have no idea what traits these classes will bring forward. Perhaps one trait is AOE enabled? Or even passive MP regen? Speculative, but makes sense to add traits of this nature to make better hybrid classes.
