Is there a way to show where your party members are on the map? Doesn't seem to be a way and it's blows my mind since that seems like such a fundamental feature to have.

Seriously people need to relax. I agree with a lot of things you guys are bringing up but what looks "fundamental" to you most likely is noted by SE and will *most* likely make it in the final version, I'm sure they put less priority on the small stuff now (such as party members appearing on map) and have shifted their resources to server stability because as we can all see the servers are in no shape for release yet. Lets all take a deep breath and wait 'til release and then if we don't see any of this fundamental stuff in the game we can all burn our games, boycott SE and watch them....not care becausethejapanesewillbebehindthemnomatterwhat Smiley: cry.

You can see them on the map. They are the light blue circles.

I think you're the one who needs to relax, I find the vast majority of these topics legitimate concerns. Assuming they will add things like this or autosorting, etc because it seems obvious to us, is giving way too much credit to SE given their track record in handling things like this. It took years for XI to finally add autosorting. I'm still waiting to be able to Alt+Tab out of that game in full screen mode. **** they didn't add a windower for 5 or 6 years and when they finally did, no one uses it because it is worthless (can't do fullscreen mode).

Players use thrid party tools for XI, not because they want to cheat in any way, but because that is the only way around some of the annoyances that should have been implemented when the game was released. How long have we complained 5-line macros simply isn't user friendly? We want windowed mode, that does full screen. The list goes on and on and luckily someone fixes these issues through third-party programs, but you have break the ToS to use them, even though they really give no advantage, other than make the game feel a little more playable and a little less clumsy.

Don't get me wrong, I still love SE and there is a reason I have been playing FFXI for over 7 years. It is a great game and SE can make great games. But, some things they do are just so out there, it really makes you wonder why they refuse to listen to their players.

I was just saying what you find fundamental SE probably does too. Does anyone actually think they wont add party members onto map of all things? I'm sure they have priorities right now and the things being brought up, while "legitimate concerns", can take a back seat and will most likely be ready for release; such as party members on map, such as UI lag, such as lack of content, etc. and I'm perfectly relaxed thank you...everyone is getting all worked up for nothing yet, I was just saying we should give it atleast 'til release and then complain if these things are still not there.

...I dont think he is saying don't complain at all... just don't complain until the retail is out. I mean, something fundamental like this I would be very shocked if XIV didnt have it. I kind of think all the fundamental stuff XI had will be in XIV. If it wasn't, then it would be as if they were regressing in their MMO experience rather than progressing.

Exactly. I mean XI didn't have UI lag like we have now... XIV isn't either. They obviously know how to deal with it. And same with the rest of the minor, fundamental annoyances right now.
