Has anyone been to this zone during "dark weather" effect yet? All I have to say is....holy crap! Run your low level character past all the mobs and get there, and get towards the center of the map. Quite a sight seeing what looks like the skeleton of a dragon perched on top of some sort of mountain/machine looking thing.

I'm told it's a crashed airship. Possibly the one in the Gridania intro?

but it would be nice if you have one to share with us, some poor soul might not have been lucky to get into open beta. Some of us might no be able to get past those (assuming there are) aggroing mob.

If you remember in the pre-release trailer, there are a few scenes where a dragon is attacking an airship. Perhaps this wreckage is that ship with the carcas of the dragon still wrapped around it.

Someone actually sent us some pics from a few mobs in there. Scary stuff! http://ffxiv.zam.com/en/zone.html?ffxivzone=10#Related_Mobs

It's a cool weather effect. So far I've seen Thunder and Lightning - Pretty much what you'd expect, Rainy weather which is really cool, and Wind weather which actually awesome, the trees and stuff start to shake with the wind too which is really nice touch.

Anyways heres a screenshot of some dark weather.

And if anyone wants to check out a smolenkos without going all the way to Mor Dhona, there's a nice convenient one in a cave in Lower La Noscea, practically just outside Limsa Lominsa (in the lower area with a bunch of clippers -- there's a couple of fallen something-or-others in there, too). Keep in mind that it will be happy to eat your face, as it did over 5000 damage to my poor little fisher (was probably level 8 and rank 5ish). Does aggro (sight), so mind your distance. ;)

However, going to Mor Dhona for the dragon sounds totally worth it. :D (I love exploring.)

Here are some that I took while down there. It's a great place with some awesome music. The zone above it is really nice as well once you get out by the lakes.

Edit: Almost everything there does aggro but they are all fairly easy to get around and only seem to aggro at close range. Except for the Evil Eyes, they are just a pain and will aggro from really far.

Sadly for now you can't really get down to the huge lake in the center of the map but I'm guessing for release this is going to change. There are random swamp areas and A LOT of caves in that zone, most of which have water.

Man I cant wait to see this game in a few years lol. Imagine how gigantic it will be considering the size of these zones.

Absolutely awesome scenery. And it all feels familiar to me from FFXI. I want to see a Ifrits Cauldron remake!

I took a few pictures of the dragon ship thing. I kept the Depth of Field off, so they are pretty cool looking.

Sorry about the interface being on, I'm a lala so I already have to rotate my camera up to the sky and then take the images as the camera falls, and holding scroll lock while doing that would be tough.
