Crafting colorsFollow

I've seen multiple people talking about crafting colors, and many people have a hard time telling the difference between them. So took some quick screen shots to show the 3 main colors.

Here you can see the plain standard white.

This is yellow, notice that the crystal is also currently unstable.

This is the elusive pink.

The orb can also be rapidly fluctuating between the colors.

What do these mean????
No one is quite sure yet, although there are 2 major camps.
Camp 1: chance of success (highest) white > yellow > pink > fluctuating (lowest)

Camp 2: use different types of synth white = standard, yellow = rapid, pink = bold, fluctuating = wait???

Any other theories are appreciated.

I usually think that stable is good to try a risky move. I seem to get more success doing rapid with white and bold on yellow, than vice versa. I don't think I have seen the pink yet, or maybe I can't tell it from the flashing ones.

Another theory is diffuclty is base on: (easiest) Standard > Rapid > Bold (hardest)

Quote:
Camp 1: chance of success (highest) white > yellow > pink > fluctuating (lowest)

Some say: Yellow > White > Pink > Flashing

Some say: Flashing = Random + chance to crit fail

My Personally Experience suggest its more towards camp 1... I almost never have sucess with bold on pink

I had 4 successes in the roll (non-consecutive) with rapid during pink tonight. I wonder I was just plan lucky.

I tend to learn towards White>Pulsing>yellow>Pink. Johnny Atlas, whose actually kept track over the course of dozens of tries sees about a 50% success rate on yellow/red and about a 75% success rate on pulses. (on recipes he out ranks with a tool in good repair)

this could be because pulsing = random and on a recipe you outrank this will average out to mostly successes...

Remember to repair your crafting tools! A tool that's almost broken or at 0 will fail almost every time no matter what!
