Howdy, I have yet to see a thread on this, very sorry if there is already.

As a Marauder I have been holding on to all of my element res/amplifying stat points so far as I level because I have zero idea if there is any visible or actual benefit to my physical attacks. At this point Im content to hold on to them until I play around with a magic class at which point ill use them to specialize my caster.

So does anyone know what, if any, benefit to a physical dmg dealing class those elemental stats give? Or had any interesting occurences happen that might lead you to believe they affect your dmg, abilities, etc?

Thanks for any input. :)

Lookup your skills, and see if there is anything elemental mentioned. I believe gladiators have a fire attack for example. I think marauder has an attack that does wind damage.

Thank you for responding :P.

I had gleaned that from some other posts waaaaaay back a few weeks.
I think I more specifically was wondering about just general attacks gaining any benefit from the elements, maybe in respect to mob weakness/strengths or any static change in my attacks(e.g. like light swing but with 30 points of lightning dmg)

Or maybe Marmots are weak to ice so if I pump up my ice element i will wade through them like a hot knife through butter. Yet if I take on a fire element mob my attacks actually are weaker?
Just wondering if anyone has had any examples or occurences along those lines.

Oh i get what you mean now. Those stats are supposed to "Attune" you to that element, but I find the damage increase even to conjurer nukes isn't all that impressive, so I don't imagine it would make that much difference. Who knows, on release someone'll spend a couple hours testing it.

I would like to see those stats do more than let people micromanage elemental resistances.

Yeah exactly! Thats what I had hoped for too. Im also a little saddened to hear that even on mage type classes the benefits are not very noticable. It is still quite early though and who knows how they might start to affect magic attacks with much higher attunements to the elements.

I feel that elemental tuning is a huge way to futher customize our characters, on top of cross class abilities, and character customization is one of the things SE has touted most.

I would love to have the choice to max my fire res and burn the holy mother out of all fire weakness monsters, while also knowing that in doing so my weakness to wind grows ever larger and I gimp myself vs all fire resistant mobs.
