Racial differences in Point AllocationFollow

First off a quick observation. It might be known already but hopefully it should make for some good discussion in here. Stat points DO NOT increase at a 1 to 1 rate. I just noticed it tonight while reassigning points for some elemental/gathering research. My Miqote ARC has about 40 STR and DEX. While reassigning points back into them I noticed it took 2 points to raise each stat by 1. Now my VIT which is mid 20s did increase 1 stat for every point i put into it. So I feel it's pretty safe to assume that all stats will require more points to raise as they get higher.

Now for what I really wanted to ask. Does anyone else hope/think that each race will have a different curve to their stat increases? And is anyone willing to help test if it is? Seeing as starting stat differences are so minor a mechanic like this would make for some real strategy at end-game.

Example: Miqote might have DEX increase 1 to 1 up until 40 whereas Hyur might only be till 35. Seeing as how everyone will have the same amount of points to allocate at end-game this would make stat and race choices much more crucial.

If you could please post at what point do your stats start increasing to 2 points per stat. Of course your race would be helpful as well. I'll post mine up after I've had a chance to confirm at what point the rate increased.

Please discuss.

I wouldn't want that in a game where you can change classes at will. FFXI sort of had it, but it was minor enough that it could be ignored safely most of the time.

And yeah, right around 35~40ish it starts taking 2 points to raise a stat by 1 point, I imagine at higher levels it'll take 3

Personally i would not like to see this, as it limits which race you can choose to play if you like a certain class.

Say i want to be a mage, but despise the look of Lallafel, then i wouldn't be able to play a mage to max, since i would be behind in stat points*.

Therefore i really like that every race has just minor differences.

*note: i don't really care to much about min-maxing but some do.

I've had a Keeper of the Sun and Seeker of the Moon Miqo'te as well as a Hyur Highlander. They all started requiring 2 points once I got to 40 on both physical stats as well as elemental resistances.

Well it seems all races probably have the same stat rate increase according to Deadlylust. Thinking about it now they probably are. End-game will probably be who is willing to sacrifice balance with all their chosen classes for specialization in 1 or 2. Kinda like merit points I guess. But from level 1 =D

Still would be nice to get confirmation on other races.

My Dunesfolk Lalafel and Duskwight Elezen both started spending 2 points for a 1 point increase at 40 points spent

Yeah it's a standard for all races, @ 40 it becomes 2 points to increase...and somewhere up there it becomes 3 I've heard...haven't reached that point myself...

I'm testing out on a Midlander Gladiator right now. I'm trying to bring him from Level 1 to 10 before alloting any points into his stats. As of now, he is at Level 8 with about 38 points awaiting distribution. Since I can plug them in all at one go and then hit the Undo button to reset all changes, I believe it'll help to test out at what point 1:1 becomes 2:1, 3:1 and so on. Of course, 3:1 will mean I'll have to take him higher...
