Does anyone have confirmation of some stats given by eating foods? I need to make a ticket to add ability to add stats and I'd like an item to test it on.

I know if you eat raw meat it gives you STR 2-4 depending if its a +1 or +2.

Any specific stats for a regular item?

I ate a grilled trout yesterday and none of my attributes changed. Unless I didn't wait long enough for the UI to update (I think 2 minutes would suffice).

I'd be interested to know what more of the actual recipes do. I'm intrigued to know that the raw meat ups strength a little bit, promising. I saw Miqote Meatkabobs at a vendor in Uldah, way too expensive to try out though =(

That gives me hope for some Fish and Chips with a creamy Lalafell sauce...

I ate a piece of raw marmot meat NQ when I was Rank 1 Marauder and my STR went up by 1. Also tried grilled carp and grilled trout with no bonus.

Miquote Meatkabobs? Seriously? Come on SE, this is a new game.

I used a Meat Miq'abob.

Here is the before:

And the after:

And this is after a Blood Currant Tart:

The only change I noticed was that it gave me a few more HP. The tart gave me a few MP. Neither changed any stats. From what I've seen, this is the standard thus far.

EDIT: I get the feeling SE is hiding the stat changes. I just used some Tea and it had no visible affect on my character whatsoever.

EDIT2: SUCCESS!

Ate a raw piece of chicken breast and it gave me one strength.

Umm..ok... this is going to be silly, but how do you exactly eat the food? I've gone through Inventory and Equipment but neither gives me the option to actually EAT it.

Or is this a statement from SE that my boiled eggs are inedible? ;_;

Two ways, one is to click on the corresponding icon with your mouse cursor in that set of four in the lower right. The keyboard shortcut is u. That will open the "usable items" menu and you can select your item of choice from there. In theory, should the game have them, potions and the like also will be used from here.

To use an item (eat food) either hit the "U" button on your keyboard or click the little bag icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen. This will bring up a menu in which you can select which item to use. As for your eggs being edible or not, you are gonna have to find out for yourself ;)

You press U and it brings the use menu and then just pick what you wanna eat. Also its cool how you can eat while sitting down. It looks so cool haha i love the detail they put into the little things

Nah, they want it to be FFXI-2 in a big way. More people switching that way, I guess?

Meat Miq'abob doesn't seem too bad.

Every FF game has items with similar names or the same names. Gysahl Greens, Pheonix Down, Buster Sword, etc.

Strange. I noticed marmot meat added HP for me. I'm assuming the marmot meat +1, +2, etc. will be more HP?
Maybe last longer with same HP? Who knows

From what I noticed you can eat any food uncooked. It just says something along the lines of "You eat X Item and find it to be disagreeable".

I tried eating a Coerthas carrot as a hyur (tasted "disagreeable" lol), and the differences I noticed were:

MP+4
INT+1

Aside though, I like how they have animations for eating now.
