then make a game that's playable then >.<

sorry but im not one for moaning but why the **** should i pay 50 quid for this game whens its not improving one bit?

i have just took on conjuring and spent 5 mins+ putting my skills in the slots only to get into a fight and the skills arnt even there.

are we gonna have some kind of assurance that this game will be 100% better than it is now?

doing my head in cos i really like it when i get to do stuff, and i can see the potential.
i have a week booked of work just to play it on release, im even thinking about canceling that lol.

i cant even log onto the beta site to post problems there.

rant over.

it's a beta? the game will not begin to be bug free for about another year, as with ffxi when a new update come's out theres an emergency maintenece a day or so later to fix bugs etc.

This game is still in the womb, birthday is on the 22nd emergency maintenece's will be going on for about 6 months onwards as players progress and find new flaw's every MMO has this, but if people want to play they will pay, hitting a flaw or a bug is not gonna stop them, we help SE they help us,

I understand your annoyed, but your in the beta to get a feel and pick out bugs and flaws, your not paying for it yet. as with the beta site, i gave up on that a looong time ago, i think SE just hit's up forums to find out what the players are saying

I think the suggestion for impatient players to wait for 6 months or so to play is undervalued.

Were you in active mode when you did this? You can't change weapons or abilities in active mode.

not impatient mate, more like annoyed.

i have played crap loads of games in beta and non of them have felt as frustrating to play as this one.

but strangely i still keep logging on so hey!

edit: i wasnt in active mode, it even said in the chat bar that they were equipped.

That's what the alpha and beta periods are for. They are giving us an opportunity to test the game in exchange for feedback that allows them to fine-tune the problems we encounter so that come release day it is enjoyable and relatively smooth.

Nobody can reasonably expect the game to be flawless at release. To those that think we are demanding that, you are wrong (not singling out you specifically). There's a scale of quality that ends with perfection, rightfully nobody is wanting to be near that marker, but right now it has a pre-alpha quality to it that is far below our expectations of a game made by SE.

No, it isn't. You're playing the demo. Surprise!

Yes, because people who actually want the cost of a new game to have more than content than food a starving man's stomach can hold are being impatient.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother taking the week off to play XIV at launch. I may end up sitting on my CE for a while instead of plunging right in on the 22nd, just because of how disrupted everything going to feel for a while. The only other alternative I see is to pick up another game to play during FFXIV downtime. Civ 5 is coming out soon (I think it's the day before XIV), so I might play XIV as much as I can and use Civ to soften the Downtime Blues.

As for "unplayable"... I'm not so sure about that. Your case seems to be rather problematic, but I assure you it is not the norm. Neither is needing 5+ minutes to equip all of Conjurer's starting actions, even with UI lag. And though I have as much a problem with UI lag as anyone else, I'm pretty satisfied with the core elements of the game. There are a handful of changes I'd like to see: AH (or at least Retainer searching), hardware mouse, auto and manual ordering of inventory, inventory filtering for equipping items, auto-templating of classes (so switching classes sets up your actions as they were), and obviously the UI lag. But Armoury is what drew me to FFXIV, and it hasn't been a letdown at all. I haven't tried partying yet, mainly because I haven't been able to play enough; but leveling Thaumaturge, Pugilist, Gladiator, Conjurer, and Alchemist have all been a lot of fun. I do a leve here or there, I do a little grinding, I do a little crafting. To me, it's a decent experience -- a lot of fun, but still needs improvement.
