Traveling to GridaniaFollow

From what I've seen/explored the only route to Gridania is from the Ul'Dah area, passing through the Black Shroud. Then of course, the direct path is blocked by streams of water so you are forced to wander the maze full of aggro.

Is there another route from Limsa Lominsa or is traveling through the Black Shroud the only way?

You can go across the river, just find the shallow part of land to walk over.

Only if you point at them, laugh, and then try to compare them to the crabs in XI

It seemed to me that LL is on a different land mass but I may be wrong

Seems only way to get to LL is thru the ferry. It's the only way I got there. West of Ul'dah. Ul'dah seems like the best starting city. Kinda in between both.

Anglers aggro in those little waters. The crabs don't.

That, or swimming. It's a long way, hope you started as a fish. ;D (Limsa's on an island so yeah, the ferry's it. Just take the road west from Ul'dah and you'll hit it. Various higher-level beasties around, but it's fairly easy to avoid them.)

In the black shroud as long as you stick to the path you should be fine, on my way out I only had a "land fisher" or somthing agro me, wasn't strong enough to one shot me and lost interest pretty quickly.

Yes, stick to the path! Ah, brings back memories of Zelda II. And, you know, the others too.

Exploring of-path is fun but dangerous. Lindblum are bad. If you see a Cactuar, it is too late.
