The last of my parts showed up today so I am about to finally put it all together. I'm nervous as **** that I'm going to break something or one of the components is DOA. Well here goes nothing!! WAHOOO!!!!!

My build!

AMD Phenom II X4 965
Asrock 870 extreme 3
Gigabyte 5850
4GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 RAM
WD Caviar Black 500GB HD
Rosewill Challenger ATX Mid Tower
Corsair TX650W PSU

Be back in about an hour with hopefully good news!!

woe spendy. What's the clock speed on your CPU?

My computer is close to what you have here (4gb ram, Phenom II (but an x2), but my graphics card isn't that close. I bought that part on the cheap with intent to upgrade it later. It's been ok so far, but I want to run on ultra ultra damnit! :P Maybe when I have some money later.

also it took me 5 hours - if you haven't done this before you might want to expect to spend a bit longer putting it together

Oh sh- Who recommended AsRock to you?!

Hopefully they've changed since my horrible experiences...

Building your first PC is great fun, though :D

Gratz! Can we see your benchmark score when you finish?

I'm running off a now "obsolete" cpu lol (phenom ii x3 720). I just put a 5850 into my micro atx case Cooler Master Elite 341, replaced from 5750.

5750 score on high: 2050-2150
5850 score on high: 3800-3867

My monitor doesn't support 1080 so only ran it on low and I don't feel like lugging it into the living room to hook up to my LCD TV right now. 4508 on low, didn't screenshot it and everything is stock right now. I'll run it on both tomorrow afternoon when I have more time! WAHOO now off to download the beta!

Don't feel too bad if you don't bench too high right away. I got the Phenom IIx4 955BE with a gtx470 and wasn't happy with my benches until I overclocked the cpu past 3.9 ghz. 3999 on high(I know...why couldn't I get one more effin' point), and 5049 on Low.

Still, comfortable with my score and I'm running 60 FPS in game right now almost everywhere. I get some lag, down to around 45 FPS around aetherytes in the starter zones when there are 50 other people there named Limp Bizkit.
