You reminded me of this: "Re-elect Governor Marley! When there's only one candidate, there's only ONE CHOICE!"

Thank you.

Secret of Monkey Island was one of the best games ever.

LucasFilms sure can butcher a movie, but damned if they didn't make great games in the DOS era. Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, Loom, etc

Zac McKracken was better than Maniac Mansion TIMES OVER 9000!! Any game where you can use a crystal on an animal to become that animal is awesome.

I will be playing eventually but at launch or even in 2010, most likely no.

Once SE has put out some major revisions to broken/antiquated/missing elements of this game then I will be ready to invest my time and money into this game.

I have been playing beta for a while and explaining the issues to my friend(who is not in beta). He is the most loyal and stout FF person I know. Hes played every FF game since 7 including FFXI where he 70'd multiple characters and even sold some of his accounts for well over $300 bucks. He even came close to divorce over his addiction to the game. He refused to believe anything negative I was telling him about the game.

I convinced him to join beta to get the experience. Well its sad news when he too thinks the game isnt ready.

As much as I like FFXIV there are just too many reasons to hold off on jumping in right now. I will just stick to FFXIII for now and keep an eye on the reviews and forums until I hear news of many of the weak areas of the game getting patched up.

Then Ill be in.

I see at least two people didn't get the idea of the thread. This is about Lucasfilm games, isn't it?

I played Zak McKraken way too much when I was younger. There was something about that game that made you play it even if you didn't care about the main quest... Flying over the world for seemingly no good reason might have been it.

Perhaps the fact I didn't really understand english back then explains my unique perspective.

Don't know about any of the adventure games, but I played the **** out of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter games back in their heyday. Never quite finished either of them, but **** they were fun. They just don't make them quite like that anymore - I rented Ace Combat when it first came out and just couldn't get into it (I blame the analog sticks!)

May I humbly suggest looking into Freespace? I believe they have Freespace2 opensource now, and you can play the Freesapce 1 and 2 campaign through it. You may find it here: http://scp.indiegames.us/

I consider Freespace to be one of the few worthy successors of the X-Wing/Tie-Fighter games, as well as Project Sylpheed on the x360. Sylpheed might be a bit more arcade, but it was really cheap even at launch, and an excellent modern space combat game.

Freespace on Insane difficulty is ridiculously fun.

Didn't vote yet, as I'm still debating whether or not I should play.

The bugs in this game just tick me off, from the download of patches to the in-game UI lag.

But as I look at this game it does look good, and I do enjoy the mix of classes and crafting (the process of it :p)
I can really see me getting sucked into this but I'd like a game that has it's act together for release. I'm not unrealistic by demanding it should be bug free/lag free, that is an impossible task. But just the things like UI/mouse lag, not being able to play full screen, the patcher etc, etc.

I still have my order open on 1 site. (cancelled one, didn't know for sure if my "main" store released it on 22 sept.)
And I can't seem to cancel the order, maybe I'm going to sell it as I ordered CE and netting a bigger price for someone who wanted it but didn't got the chance.
But I really hope SE gets their act together in this beta, as I will be checking it out around 16/17 sept to see if it's really worth my money and time.

TIE Fighter was an awesome game back in the 90's. Played the crap out of it. In fact, this just reminded me that I should redownload it for some nostalgia goodness.
