since the new patch, i can't run the game on full screen and when i run it on windowed screen, the game will only last for a few minutes before it crashes to the desktop. is anyone else getting these issues, or does anyone have any solutions?

everytime it crashes, i get fed up and don't want to play til either a few hours later or the next day.....

My laptop performed a lot worse tonight than it did yesterday, I'll give you that. It crashed out to a DirectX error that required a reboot to fix, as well as sputtered a bit, when walking around Ul'dah.

I think something may be amiss.

I too am having issues (lagging on near-max settings, whereas I have NEVER lagged in FFXIV before on max settings), and my rig is nearly as good as you can build. I think they need to do some more optimizing, yes?

well this is what i'm running on

Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q8200 2.33 GHz
8 GB DDR2 RAM
ATI HD 5750 1 GB DDR5
Windows Vista 64 bit

i'm still confused why it would be crashing the way it does...

i started to get ffxivboot.exe error after update, installed newest video drivers and it's fine now.

Still crashing, i searched the net a bit and saw someone had success reinstalling in different location. trying that now, will report back

alright, after just a few games of Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 on my PS3, i figured to try launching the beta again, and behold! it works on fullscreen, but i still not too sure about the random crashing to desktop, i got a feeling that it may be my computer, and more specifically, my CPU, but then again, i'm not too sure....

...oh and i'm sure playing my PS3 has nothing to do with the fullscreen working again lol

turned out to be bad ram, or incompatible with mobo which would be odd because i havent had a problem till recently. I still have to run some ram tests to determine if they are truely bad, but after swapping ram and running with the 2 original pairs when i built the computer it installed fine no problem. hope this helps someone
