Main features include hardware mouse, and being able to alt+tab with full-screen mode. I'm seeing about a 5-10% increase in performance over windowed mode.

Let the great debate begin! Again!

OMG I'm in love.

Does this mean that the hardware mouse will work with every new patch or do we need to wait for a new release of this awesome tool whenever a new patch is released

Old news for those who check FFXIVCore. And by that I mean you should check the technical support section of FFXIVCore. Some nice stuff there.

For those who are using XP, or don't want to use an executable program, try this: http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/14092-run-game-in-windowed-fullscreen-mode-instructions/

For another nifty program which can smooth out your game performance, try this: http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/14676-ffxiv-priority-booster-official-topic/

So in a week you got to increase the performance 10%~15% of a game that have been developed by a team of professionals for over 5 years.

In love <3.<3

Or a way to bypass the gazillion, (yes I said gazillion) sub menus if I want to, oh say get to my loot window, equip a piece of gear (text based inventory?, seriously?) or anything else.

I really love the fact that you actually have to explore to learn things in this game, but I'm really worried that the "exploring" will get old too fast with the unresponsive UI system.

For the first time I tried to sell something to a NPC, OMG it took like 8-10 seconds to sell one item, so I stod there for a good min or two selling junk. I was like okeeeeeey this will get old very very fast. Where is my right click to sell

Edit: I am LOVING the hardware mouse fix btw

I'm playing the game with it right now. Be sure you set the game to windowed mode in the official FFXIV settings. Also, be sure it's set for your desktop's current resolution.

Is this from Cliff and the boys? Or some new kid on the block?

I'd rather wait for the original windower team version, because I trust them not to steal my accounts by now.. This may just be beta, but it's still connecting to our SE accounts, which will be connected to the retail version.

This came out a lot sooner than I expected. All that's really needed to make this perfect for full time use is an auto-attack plugin, a sort plugin, and a keyboard shortcuts plugin (press i for inventory, e for equipment, etc.).

Make it so when you decide to unhide the glove cursor, that the windows pointer is hidden instead. The way you've got that checkbox set up now, is you get BOTH the glove AND the windows pointer.
the windows pointer hovers above the glove pointer. totally pointless. fix :)

It should be noted this was not released by the Windower team of old. If you use this, do so at your peril.

I'm sure it'll pass anti-virus checks but that doesn't mean it can't contain a keylogger as part of its base functionality (i.e. not from being infected by a known virus)

Believe me the fix was a flag to me also. I hope people understand that things like this could be legit, but ARE YOU willing to risk your FFXIV account when it is released? I'd rather have a bad cursor than to level up my character and get it stolen because I installed some third party software.

I couldnt find a process that I haven't had before installing this windower. Hopefully there's no keylogger. The 'hush'ness of this ordeal is unsettling though. davess should make a case for himself if he wants community support for an unknown invasive program

Why would it need an extra process if it's injecting itself into FFXIV's exe?

Not saying it is, but think about it.

I hadnt thought about that, just thought about how normal keyloggers work. then again theres no such thing as a normal virus.
it would make sense this injects itself into the exe, because it doesnt need to update along with it. it probable just adds to it no matter what version of the exe it is.

but who knows. so far only *counts* 3 of us care about a keylogger stealing our characters a few months from now .yay

The only thing suspicious is that it seems to inject code at the login screen, I am using it as if it wasnt for this program I probably wouldnt play the game, ShiftWindow is frustrating and the software mouse patch wasnt updated yesterday. Anyway I have sent the file to Kaspersky for analysis.

this program could inject an undetectable script into the login .exe, which is what we are trying to investigate. This is not the same as a virus or anything, so your scanner won't do anything. Be aware of this risk. this is what keyloggers are known for doing with online rpgs, so we're trying to be precautious before people start losing their online accounts once the games are out

Uh yeah sorry I haven't been around. I am in no way responsible for this, I just saw a link, tried it out, saw it worked, and decided to share with the Zam community. As someone said previously, the development team is very active and (as far as I can tell) is in no way shady. Still though, use at your own risk.

The new version has a work around for this injection you worry about... it is injecting super-goodness into a SLOW/Broken beta... the people @ FFxivcore have no interest in messing with your stuff... I would hope...

From the latest release

- Multi monitor support (set the screen offset in the launcher, play it on any monitor you want)
- Alternative injection methode: Optional, does not inject into ffxivboot and ffxivlogon - (also written in C#, you can look into it and confirm it does not inject anything into logon)
- Fix for the bug that windower xiv was not working at all
- Launcher will now check for updates and inform you
- Tooltip help in launcher that will explain EVERY option and how to use it
- Option to use FFXIV cursor as hardware cursor

Thing works great. Priority high makes my sound stutter a bit, but overall way smoother game.

At first with "Alternative injection method" checked it didn't work. So if it has zero affect and you still see glove mouse, that'd be it.

Can't you get banned for using this?... and if you get banned I guess you need not worry about someone stealing your characters then. But seriously, being that we are still in beta..I'm sure SE is totally against this (even though it probably works like a charm).
I would be concerned about the security as well of this third party program...

All I'm concerned about is that yet again, a third party team does a better job than the team we are actually PAYING to do it. It never fails to amaze me how a group of guys in basements with no access to source code can effectively plug into a game (in its beta stages no less) and fix the broken interface.

As far as getting banned - technically yes, you *can* be banned. Historically have they actually enforced it? I never heard of anyone getting banned from using Windower in XI (including myself). I rather think that SE preferred taking the lazy way out of fixing their broken interface.

I downloaded this last week after seeing this thread. Today my WoW account got hacked. I've been playing 5 years and have never been hacked. Could be a coincidence, but I'm racking my brain for where I could have picked up a keylogging program, and this is the only thing I can come up with. Just an fyi.

Well there wouldn't be any point in hacking a beta account. Oh I'm sure it's fine and yeah, sad that SE can't do this functionality themselves (well, won't), I'm just saying.
