Regarding stat/elemental pointsFollow

So I've been playing casually since the OB started. I'm trying not to spend too much time leveling up and such, and really just wanted to get a feel for it before the release.

My goal here is to figure out exactly how to make the most of my official character.

Apologies if there is another source of this information, but I couldn't seem to find it.

I'm wondering if there is further information as to the effect of the elemental stats on spells and abilities. Beyond the most obvious that the 'Fire' stat would beef up your 'Fire' spell to some extent, what effect might the 'Stone' stat have on, say, Stoneskin? Or perhaps would 'Lightning' stat increase the effectiveness of Shock Spikes?

Also, on a related note, is there any current information on what elemental resistances mobs have?

Lastly, I haven't gotten around to leveling any other class, and so I haven't switched classes as of yet. I recall reading that some (?) of your stat points are reset. Is this still the case? Are stat allocations unique to each class, and change accordingly? Can you ever reset your stats?

Thanks for any input.

People are testing things like attributes helping certain abilities. Some have said VIT helps 2nd wind on pugilist and MND improves cure potency like in XI. I don't know how thorough that testing has been though. VIT & MND definitely increase your HP & MP. Not sure about others aside from the obvious weaponskills that mention they do some type of elemental damage, increasing that element might help.

I ran a test on thistletail marmots to see how my elemental stats affected my nukes, I now know for certain they're strong against earth & weak to water = P
There's not a ton of info out on that, again aside from the obvious like elementals.

If you hadn't seen it before:
Fire > Ice > Wind > Fire(Fire melts Ice, Ice blocks Wind, Wind extinguishes Fire)
Lightning > Water > Earth > Lightning(Lightning boils Water, Water erodes Earth, Earth grounds Lightning)

If you open your stat allotment there's a reset button you can use(I think every 30 mins?) to reallocate a portion of your stats. It doesn't let you do it all at once. So you'd be waiting quite a while to abruptly change from War to Magic stats. Your stats stay the same when you change classes...

Thanks for that input. So if your stats are allocated toward a caster, there really isn't much worth in attempting to change to a more melee type. Toward end-game, what would even be the point?

Well you could do it, just slowly...and the more stats you have, the more annoying & time consuming it's gonna be. Really would love to see something where you could change all your stats somehow. Either in town only or once every 6 hours...I dunno...something better than the way it is now. I currently have a solo mage kind of setup with a lot of points in VIT. It'd be nice to have a solo setup and a pure mage setup. And also be able to change to melee and fix the 15STR & 13DEX I have = P

I did notice that in the conjurer's guild there are 'abilities' you can buy that give you, for example, x str/dex/etc for every y int/mnd/etc.

I wonder if that will come into play to account for the stat imbalance when wanting to switch to/from DoM to/from DoW.
