is there any way to sort items like in ffxi? where things will auto-stack and gear gets grouped at the top of the inventory?

i've been doing lots of mining and i have multiple half stacks of ore, slag, sand and other stuff. i'm about to hit my 80/80 inventory cap but i know that could be reduced if i had a way to auto-stack/sort my gear.

thanks!

I don't believe they've added that yet.

I was under the impression our inventory was auto stacking, just not sorting. But I admit I haven't specifically tested it.

hmm. i'll have to double check that it isn't auto-stacking. seeing three different stacks of copper ore in my bags made me think it wasn't stacking, but maybe it just wasn't auto-sorting.

thanks for the replies.

It auto stacks. (see post below)

Copper Ore x12
Copper Ore+1 x3
Copper Ore+2 x4
Copper Ore+3 x5

Or, you're seeing multiple +0 stacks because the stack limit for most items is 12. Why so many items are not 30 or 99 is beyond me.

I wish we had a way to sort things. ****, even auto sorting would be a blessing with the way things are rightnow.

As for storage limit, my retainer is 80/80, my inventory is 67/80 after getting rid of a bunch of my old gear and random materials I didn't need for my crafts (was full). I'm mostly full of food, wood and weaving materials. I don't see how we'll ever be able to rank multiple jobs/crafts at the same time without buying more retainers. Oh wait, that's what SE wants.

It only auto-stacks when it puts it into your inventory. Once it's in your inventory, it doesn't auto-stack. (ie if you, like me, have a full stack of moko grass and a single moko grass and you use 2 from the stack to make some yarn or whatever the **** it was, it won't put the single stack in with the rest.)

My theory at this point is that things like a /sea feature, inventory sorting, and all that other stuff have been disabled for this phase of testing because they're using so much extra bandwidth and server resources to run the UI off the servers. Once they get things set properly for official service and the UI is shifted client side where it belongs, they'll enable some of the other "standard" goodies that they'd otherwise be retarded to ship the game without.

Now now, let's be fair here. They will probably add more storage options. It all came at different times in FFXI too. Let's remember the gobbie bag quests, the increase in storage size of furniture, the mog locker, and the satchel.
