Thanks!

Also what about exp and sp per hr? I guess if the mobs are far apart, or too many people fighting for them, that's not good either.

Good xp seems to be 300-400 (hard to get solo, though) and skill points seem to be in the 150-200 range. Unless you've really rounded out your character, however, expect an inordinate amount of downtime to get those numbers. Realistically, 200-300xp and 80-150 skill points/fight seems to be what I can count on with my gladiator while maintaining an entertaining pace.

Response to your edit: It's beta, guy. It takes time to come up with numbers like xp/hour and all that other junk. Maybe just play the game and don't worry about the min-max ubertweaker crap for now.

I'm guessing 200-250.

Thats what i've been getting on my THM and CON. Doing Battle Leves with GF jumps it to about 400-700SP and 900-1200XP from what i've seen.

Ok, guess I should be happy with the 400 exp and 150ish skill up I've been getting at rank 12 then.

To Tuck? Really, as a Thaum, I never get that kind of sp per mob. I barely get a couple of hits in while the DoWs are skilling up like crazy. I'd say i get less skill ups than the 150 I get from soloing. I just do the leves for the rewards and fun with the LS.

To Aurelius, yes I'm definitely enjoying the beta. But I can help it, I have an analytical mind and I like to know these things. :D

Not to pick a fight, but there's nothing analytical about someone else doing the work for you and giving you the result. If you truly had an analytical mind, you'd be figuring it out on your own and telling us. Not trying to rag on you, but we need contributors around here who are going to figure things out properly and inform the community and not just folks starting umpteen new threads a day asking questions that nobody has had a chance to learn how to answer yet.

Ok, fine, call it data minded, not analytical, whatever you want to call it. I do have some numbers, but I have no idea if they are good or bad, that's why I'm asking questions.

I know you've been around here much longer and all, but I don't see the harm in asking questions and no need for the haughty attitude. We're all curious about game mechanics and learning together. It's way better than the umpteen whining threads around here.

It's a community, so I think a friendlier attitude might be better. If you don't feel like answering fine, no need to act all superior and preachy.

I'm also pulling in the 300 exp and 200 skill range when soloing on my Rank 11 Pug. If I just mindlessly grind away I can pull off a new rank in about 1-2 hours, which isn't too far from the time it took to do the same in FFXI. The real question is, has anyone tried to seriously exp party with 5 or 6 members a la FFXI? Without an LS and a terrible search function it is hard to even get one other person to help with levequests as it is so I have had no party experience yet.

I haven't found partying to be good at all for exp or sp. But I've only tried it for leves.

I did one exp party killing wolves, and that was decent, but it was only 3 of us, a glad, archer and thauma. So not a traditional party.

It depends on classes.

At the same level (below lvl 10) my CON gets around 400/150 while my PUG gets 500/200. Basically my PUG has more because he hit the mobs more.

I duo'd with a gladiator and I was getting more rank points than her. I was getting 120 and she was getting 90. I did about 10 more damage than her per hit. I was thaum.

Yeah I agree with what others have said. For me I can find mobs that give great exp, but the fights are longer & there's downtime involved. So it's more about finding the right xp/hr...this little cave I found that I've brought up in other posts was filled with blue mobs that would at best be 200sp and sometimes pretty low. But all I needed was stoneskin & cure and the only downtime was when I wanted a break. So I always had mobs to kill and the xp added up quickly. This was way more efficient than finding some green mobs that gave the **** xp numbers.

Ok, for Mr. Aurelius and others that are interested. I tracked my numbers tonight, rank 13 Thauma, physical 15. I get 7706 skill ups and 24810 exp an hour.

Curious to hear any of your numbers for those that are willing to share.

Varies quite a bit... Currently 16.

EXP... 300-700... Leaning towards around 600 on average, but I'll kill lower enemies if they're there. Levequests can obviously hit 1000 or more.
Skill points, 50-250? >.>; Probably 150 or so is the average, though shield levels much slower than weapon. Max I've gotten was 352 against an Aldgoat Nanny. XD How I won, I'll never know...

I get the best skill-ups when I have GF on doing leves..sometimes. If I'm not doing a leve it's usually in the range everyone else is posting. I also learned that I get the best skill ups when I spam Spirit Dart. On my THM I start with Poison, put up my shield and Dart away. If Poison fails I throw in a nuke. On a side note and completely off the subject I love the Shield mechanism, makes things more interesting :)

Ok contrasting solo to the 3hr of leves I did with LS, I only averaged 1141 skill ups and 2291 exp per hr. But of course they were a lot more fun than soloing, :)
