Still somewhat a mystery, I was finally offered Guildmarks tonight.

This was offered to me by the standard Guildleve NPC in Limsa Lominsa as a Rank 20 level at Camp Bloodshore. I'm assuming it's specifically Marauder marks because that is my highest battle-related class at the moment.

From what I've seen that's available they seem pretty set...there's 2 in Ul'dah that give Thaumaturge guild marks regardless of the class I'm on. Hopefully there's a lot more to be offered in retail. Though I did try one as conjurer and it gave me the message like "You won't be earning THM GMs if not on that class".

It's also 5,000 for the new abilities/traits..thought it was 500 at first...

Oh.. must have changed from P3 then. I haven't bothered looking in open since I hadn't gotten any marks. Still though, that's not too bad. It's a new ability in 5-7 leves.

Indeed, it gives ya some incentive to keep running those leves...those level20+ ones start to get pretty rough too...much more fun than the 1st camps

I've been getting offers for Leves that gives Marks ever since OB started, but they pop up at random. Official release will probably see more NPCs that offer leves at their actual Guilds otherwise the Mark system is going to be really awkward and inefficient.

Not anymore. Abilities from the Guilds used to cost 500 marks, but ever since OB (or maybe CB3, I forget) started the price for each went up to a whooping 5000.

I hope they let you gain the guild marks on other jobs... It's rather irritating when you finally see a Levequest with that reward, and it offers you points for a job you're not leveling, or is too low to do the Levequest. I know there's ones in for Pugilist, but mine was much too low.

As far as I am aware when you go and get your Battle Leves the class you currently have set is the type of marks you will get. So you go as CON and you will be offered CON marks, go as MAR and you get MAR marks etc.

When I saw those leves tonight I was on my Rank 7 Lancer.

Ahha like you said in your starting post - must be your highest class job :)

However...

I just remember when playing the last beta that my CON was never higher than my THM and I once went to get some leves while still a CON and didnt get offered THM marks but got offered CON ones. Maybe there is more to it than highest rank or what class you currently are when selecting leve.

It may be a combination of things?

Like TwistedOwl said, they could be set by town. I'm sure it's no coincidence that my Marauder being my only job eligible had seen them available only in Limsa. Perhaps despite youre level you still need to be in a city with your desired type of Guild?

So for Limsa it'd be: Marauder, Culinarian, Fisher, Blacksmith and Armorer. (Limsa also has Archanist and Musketeer Guilds though they seem there for storyline only).

Gridania would be: Leatherwork, Archer, Lancer, Conjurer, Botanist, Carpenter.

Ul'dah would be: Miner, Pugilist, Gladiator, Thaumaturge, Weaver, Goldsmith and Alchemist.

In theory, of course.

I found a leve with Pugilist marks in Limsa Lominsa. While being a leatherworker. Granted Pug is my highest, but LL has no Pug guild.

I can confirm Lancer guildmark leves in LL, and Lancer is my highest combat job.

Pugilist guild marks in Limsa, while I'm on Gladiator (My highest job by far). Before that, I accepted a Levequest that -did- have Gladiator guild marks.
So yeah... It's either random, or screwy. :P Either way, I hope something gets changed.

They aren't offered based on town. I had a Lancer Guild Mark (GM) leve offered from Limsa, and another one today in Ul'dah. If you're lucky you can get 5,000 GM in 2/3 leves, the key is exchange leve :) My first leve gave me a whooping 2,450 Lancer GM.

I also picked up another Gladiator GM leve today in Ul'dah. My Lancer rank is 16 and my Gladiator rank is 10, but I also have 10 in Marauder. They *may* be randomly given, but favours your highest rank.

In the Closed Beta Phase 3, there were Guild Mark NPC's for all of the guilds located in Limsa Lominsa. There is currently no NPC standing where they used to be now. They may get brought back at retail.

Finally found some Conjurer Guildmarks! A level20 leve from Ul'dah...also exchanged some leves and that increased the guildmarks by 300...

Also saw one that gave thaumaturge GMs in Gridania, which I see a lot of...
