I am a computer dummy looking to get an upgrade for FF xiv. How well will this run ffxiv? should i look to upgrade the graphics card or anything? Is there any other computer options around the same price that i should be looking at?

Thanks so much for the time and help guys ^^;;

My advice would be not to buy from Dell.

My cousin has that computer, it runs WoW good... but..
If your not comfortable building a system yourself, go with IBuyPower, or CyberPowerPC, they are respected "custom" PC builders.

http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer_Paladin_F725

Way I configured it has a better processor, better video card, liquid cooling, faster RAM, better PSU, nicer looking case, for an extra $100.

If you're going to spend that much, get a system that will score around 4000 on high benchmark.

Check here:
http://digitalstormonline.com/

1. click on gaming pc
2. click on special ops (right side)
3. select the $911 model, and customize it.
4. change the gpu to a 5850

Your total should be $1188.

You get:

1. a six core processor (stable overclock for free to 3.3-3.9ghz)
2. 4gb ram @1333
3. 500watt psu (opposed to dell's puny 350w)
4. 24x dvdrw vs dell's 16x
5. windows 7 os
6. plus other goodies
