Hey guys :)

Soooo for some reason I started to mess around with my graphic card just to see how far I can push it.
I was surprised on how much I was able to OC my GTX 470 and still have it run extremely stable.
With stock cooling. Given I have the fan at 100% but still. It's totally worth the improvement, besides a headset blocks the fan noise completely :P

I ran loads of different benchmark and stress tests for about 2-3 hour while tweaking the card.
From reading spec posts from lots of people on this forum I noticed there are quite a few GTX 470 users.
Now I don't know if these specs would be stable on your system as well but below is a screenshot.

The numbers written in red are what I have now and the numbers next to them are a screenshot from the stock GTX 470 taken from

Clicky for screenshot
the image is about 1 meg so it might take a few sec to load it

My GPU temp fluctuates between 70c-75c (FFXIV benchmark brought it up to 81 on a score of 4600 on high)
Before I did the OC my Benchmark was at 3100.
When idle the GPU temp is at 55c

Anyway this got me excited and I had to share it with someone :P

Wish you all a good night :)

Pretty sweet, what Processor are you running?

I think the temp threshold for 400 series is 105c so you can probably get a little more juice out if you really wanted to, I'd say low 90's in high performance situations(like the benchmark) is more than safe for the card.

Also your character looks like hes about to rob a train with an axe.

My Spec is
Asus P5N-D Mobo
CPU Intel Quad Q9550 2.85 Ghz
RAM 4 gig DDR2 6400 800Mhz

Yeah I could probably get more juice out of it but I don't want to be too greedy, lol :P

Yeah my sexey maurauder in cloth armor ^^
