I havent been able to play the beta at all since it was released, combination of work, school, the girl, etc. I got to get on the character creation screen for about 10 minutes, then had to leave, planning to do it later. I finally get a couple hours tonight, I go to open the beta and this is what I get:

"11000 Version update failed.1:40002" Then it auto cancels the download and I cant do anything with it, :/... just my luck...

Anyone have this same problem / possible solutions?

Quit work, drop out of school, kill your girlfriend.

OP pay no notice to the stupid dumb asses that posted above me.. these people are proof of why FFXIV will fail.. just too many stupid trash playing this game..(and in this community)

On the other hand to solve your problem.. Try restarting the client, perhaps there was an update while you were away.. That should fix it.. if not then you have a corrupted client.. no choice but to reinstall the entire thing..

NO WAIT..

Did you install the hardware mouse patch by any chance? If you did that probably caused the error messaage

There was a patch I had to download today, but I just opened it, and left my computer... Im guessing it was the mouse patch? What do I need to do to get past the error?

When I open the client, the error pops up then auto shuts down. EVERYTIME

I assume you've restarted and tried again? Any changes to your network settings? Is the program being blocked by Windows (Vista/7 only)? If all that checks out, I'd say you need to uninstall and reinstall.

All ports are forwarded, no change in network, no firewall intrusion, by the time the client finishes re-downloading, the official game will be out.

If you did the hardware mouse patch from Clint.. I hope you also backed up your original FFXIVgame.exe ... or else I think you are screwed :|

Calm down Tyra - I was joking around...I'd be worried if the "community" was anything as stiff as you are.
