How D,

So I've been trying out the beta and doing leves, gathering, fighting, crafting, etc. The main thing I have a question about is what do you tend to do while waiting for leve timers?

Is this the part where the game resembles FF11 and you just go out and fight random things or gather random stuff to get exp? Join parties and help other people on their leves?

I'm just trying to make sure I have the overall picture on game play before making a concrete decision.

I see it more like the grinding, farming, crafting, questing, aiding friends etc. in between leves is the actual gameplay & guildleves are a fun, quick way to earn bonus exp, gil & items. You take full advantage of them every chance you get, but it's not the main focus. Despite all the publicity about 'em.

Thats the beauty of the game, its up to you on how to play it. Dont let other people tell you on how to progress your char. I'm sure over time there will the concept of the best build for each type of race/class.... so for now enjoy the game for what its gonna have when it goes live. Granted the CD on leve's is a pain but isnt that bad.

I've basically done what i had planned for beta, so for now.. im making notes on how I'm gonna progress my char, crafts, lv spots ive found with no one around.

Dont let other people sway you... make you own decision, unless that person is paying for your account to play... (if thats the case, your on your own)

There will also be missions and quests for each city, a LOT more area to explore, crafting, gathering, grinding, partying, local AND battle leves (don't forget you can group up for extra leves), NM's (I'm assuming/hoping they will be added for release), and probably some other stuff that hasn't even been included yet. I can pretty much guarantee there won't be as much to do as ffxi right off the bat, but keep in mind that game has also been out for what, 8 years now? I'm quite confident there will be enough content to keep people busy for a long time.

That's what I figured. I love that now your character gets exp on successful gathering and crafting so the combat grind is no longer the only way to level.
