I know its way too early to be thinking about new classes...

but I hope that in the event that they decide to go with a samurai type class... that the aesthetic could be more of the cloth happi coat wearing type and less of the shogunate armor type. And if they could make it with the one sleeve off and bandages on the torso ... that'd be AWESOME.

Um...you're thinking way too 'Bleach'. Shinigami != samurai. In combat Samurai (at least later-era Samurai) wore heavy armor made of wood and metal, though not so cumbersome as full plate and mail. Out of combat they wore typical clothes for the period, the defining differences being a warrior's topknot and carrying a weapon.

Making Samurai in anything, be it game or book or what have you, a copy of some anime rip-off is truly an insult to the history of the noble warrior class.

That being said, I DO like Bleach. But no. Just no.

Seriously. Anime influence. No thanks.

I really want a samurai/ronin type job as I enjoy the codes/rules of the ninja/samurai throughout history (along with other warrior types). But if it is implemented as an anime type rendering, I'd be extremely disappointed in S-E for taking that path.

While I understand what you're trying to say, Samurai still dueled to the death outside of wars. Look at the Shinsengumi...a bunch of ronin tasked to protect the 14th shogun. No armor.

Anyway, I think it would be a pretty cool idea.

actually I was thinking more Kenshin. But yeah, it would be "anime" styled I suppose. My taiko group wears our uniforms that way too and we always liked the look. I like it better than the armor. It always looked so cumbersome.

i hope they add a ninja class, but instead of having like a full mask that covers their face, they should just have a bandana! these bandanas should have like metal parts with a cool insignia for the different nations you pick at the start. like gridania could be a leaf or something. anyway, these bandanas shouldn't just be worn as a headband, they should be able to be tied to your arm or used as a hair tie or something.

i think this would be way cool.

p.s. this is a totally unique and my own idea.

lol@ whomever rated me down because I I said no thanks to anime influence. If you're childish enough to feel vexed over that no wonder you think its a good idea. Instant classic.

Cheers. ~.^
