How good is it really? Is it worth using for every class just for the stuns?

It's an amazing spell for soloing on conjurer. The stun effect always gives time to cure yourself and throw out another AoE spell. It does decent damage besides.

Not sure how good it is on other classes. Probably still worth it for fighting multiple enemies with no other crowd control though.

One of the best spells CON has. The stun effect gives you a great advantage over your enemy. Especially the tougher ones. Combine it with Stoneskin and you are unbreakable! :)

Works good on any other classes as well.

Even better when in conjunction with a shield.

I always make sure I have Shock Spikes on all the time. It's a real life saver. While I'm hunting mushroom mobs, whenever they get stunned, it'll give you an opportunity to move away outside of their AoE poison blast attack. Also when the mob is stunned, you have a chance to cast a quick Cure or a nuke to finish off the mob.

I don't even use Stoneskin when I level. I have my VIT at 40, and blue mobs don't do enough damage to warrant taking the time to cast it. Green mobs just break through stoneskin in a hit or two, so it barely helps. And I have enough HP that I can easily keep myself alive with Cures. Maybe once we get Protect it will be different -- adding a big def boost to Stoneskin's damage absorption may make a big deal. That, and leveling shield might help, but so far my shield has leveled veeery slowly.
