Has anyone figured out which races start with the better stats for which jobs and if race has an impact ultimately on the hp/mp values of your character?

Oh! And how long exactly does it take to respec?

Well, all I know, according the the FFXIV website, is that Wildwood Elezen is great for Archer and Duskwight Elezen is good for Pugulist~ :)

due to placing your own stats on level ups, these starting stats mean VERY little, just choose on cosmetic preference.

Stats I'll agree probably don't mean much. But I'm wondering if the HP/MP values will be as extreme as taru hp/mp & galk hp/mp from XI? Has anybody noticed this?

True. But, for example, if I choose a Wildwood Elezen and choose an Archer as a starter DoW, I have the 'advantage' on having the stats needed for archer being higher than everyone else. You may be able to reach the same stats as I have, but you prolly had to lvl a bit more than I did.

I'm not sure about any differences in HP/MP between races.

But I believe the stats do make a difference as you progress. VIT gives more HP and MND gives more MP.

oh ok... gotcha. Thanks. I knew VIT gives HP, but I didn't know which stat was for MP. Thanks a lot!

an advantage which can be breached with 1 or 2 levels, also for the record, regardless of starting stats at 40 it costs 2 points for 1 stat.

In the short scheme, you might be able to do 2-3 more damage than someone else for 2-3 levels.

In the long scheme, nothing.

This. Some people claim race matters due to the difference in starting stats.
Those same people don't understand the system. It's not like the difference becomes "negligible" at Level 10.
The difference becomes "absent" for all practical purposes.
A race with high starting stats will hit the 40-point-threshold sooner; and each following threshold as well.
Unless you intend to put literally ALL your points into one stat - forget about that pretty fast due to how the game works - there will be no difference (not even the cosmetic one I'd like to see) between races in any profession later on.

Bring on the Taru Paladins and the Galka Black Mages.

That's impossible.
If you keep spreading these false rumors... more people may make Roegadyns. =(

On a side note: Do you find it at all sad that bsphil goes around rating down every single post I make, even outside of this forum? lol

You two seem to have some kinda schoolyard quarrel goin' on. The kids really like eachother, but pretend they hate eachother. I see what's goin' on there. Can my roegadyn come to the in-game wedding? = P
