Why do you want to play on an english server? What language do you speak anyway?

Since FFXIV is having a global release, I'm going to assume there will be no "English speaking server". Instead, it really depends more on your playtime. If you play during NA primetime, you'll encounter the most English speaking players, followed by EU primetime.

Global servers is one of the things I loved the most about FFXI. The servers are never dead, there's always something going on, as long as you're willing to make an effort to get along with people who don't speak your language. Lots of fun!

If you dont want to play with non-en speaking players then dont? Or you could use the translate function.

Apparently, they aren't in England anymore.

OT: It seems you're looking for Cornelia, which I have heard is the current unofficial EU server.

lol i doubt you can translate ideograms. Weird, Japanese do not know English?
In my case I try to type publicly but I get no messages back; it's like most players want to stay alone.

I loved playing FFXI with PPL from all over the world. *** PTs were some of the best PTs I was in, even tho I always wondered what they were all chatting about (may have been talking about me IDK lol) but most of them PTs were epic. Auto-Translate can get you by for most of ur PT needs tho, its ur best friend.

Hello mate, as mentioned there are a higher amount of EU players on Cornelia.

Quite a few members of my all-British linkshell from XI (Ragnarok) are going to be migrating to XIV (Cornelia), you'd be more than welcome to join us.

Thats a misnomer, there are large groups of EU players on a few servers.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Something is askew, but I can't seem to put my finger on it.

Cornelia is no better, either people are too **** ignorant to type or they all speak japanese, it seems 1 in a 100 players speak english.. Very rare you'll come accross someone who talks in english.

I'm on Mysidia - that explains why it's been so quiet. Now if the Gil Sellers would just yell in Japanese .... :D

It's not so much that people don't speak English, it's more that people don't want to speak at all. Nothing personal I'm sure, but everyone's kind of doing their own thing right now.

Right now in the open beta, yes, and most likely for the release too. However SE may prevent people from joining over-populated servers, so keep that in mind.
