I know there hasn't been something said about it yet by SE but what do you guys think? At first thinking about this i was like "They better not pull something like this." But when you really think about it, if the majority of items and such are made by the player base (which i would be happy with) couldn't this really destroy any sort of an economy if we could level all the DoH to the limit?

I know at first it wouldn't because there is no economy and everyone is starting from scratch but eventually (year or 3 down the road) so many people will be self efficient. Not having to rely on anyone else for crafted items. Couldn't this become a problem? Especially with how it is leveled up like other disciples. Seems like leveling up a craft to cap will be 500x easier and faster then in XI.

I was a 100+ fisher, 100+ cook, 97 cloth, and 60 in all but Gsmithing in XI. Would have had a few more if not most of them capped out if i could have. As cool as that would have been, with so many "hardcores" out there like myself i would think this could possibly just make our economy worthless minus a few crafted items. Kind of like how WoW was when i played it at least. No idea if its changed in that game.

Hey to derail my own thread i just thought about how i am lusting over another lu shangs+ ebisu rod quests. I hope SE eventually adds in things like this in some way or another. And do it for all the DoH/DoL jobs. Think the biggest thing i ever accomplished in any MMO was getting my Ebisu Rod. I must have put in 3 months of actual playtime in getting that **** thing. And that is not including the time it took to get to 98ish when i started the quest.

Not a chance that it will be easier. In FFXI you needed ten .1's of skill to gain the next level. That took roughly 24-36 synths to get. It was very reasonable to level a single craft from 1 to 100 with 3500 to 3600 synths or less.

In FFXIV the level curve is too steep. A GOOD skillup rate is about 300 per synth. Sure gaining level 2 only takes 957 skill points but level 30 takes 39k. To get level 30 would take 130 synths (more with failures, less with lots of levequests). Level cap is currently 50? That will require 250+ synths for a single level. I estimate that it will take approximately 6000 synths to get from 1 to 50 in FFXIV. Unless the skill curve is reduced OR the skill reward is far greater at higher levels.

I hear what you are saying on that. But man it seemed like it could take 100's of synths sometimes to get that .1 in the 90's :) But that does make sense, and i guess if it did become a problem SE could easily do something to change it up. So hopefully its done right.

Oh and also. Has anyone got fatigue on a DoH class yet? That will make the hardcore crafter raise up their skills on all their DoL/DoH i think.

Making this thread i didn't think while writing this that people could hit cap with all in a few months. More thinking of the future. *shrug* Hopefully this is done right in the future because i am mainly going to be a DoH/DoL person with probably 1 maybe 2 DoH/DoM class/classes capped out. That is if this game turns out the way i think it will and be a 5+ year playable game for me.
