A theory on leve quest "babies"Follow

I was running through some leve quests tonight, and made an observation that could use some testing.

I'm sure by now we've all got the message "The leve quest target is attempting to flee." Then the sole surviving mob runs off and eventually creates more mobs once it reaches its destination.

Tonight, while the mob that fled had lost interest in me once it reached its destination, the babies b-lined for me. Since I was still low on HP, I decided to run them off to get to full health. That's when I discovered a hard fact: they never stop. Babies will never deaggro.

My theory is this: The babies will essentially defend the mob that spawns them relentlessly. While some have thought this player to be random, I believe it is the person who was highest on the hate list for the party of the fleeing mob. That would explain when some players who took action on neither the babies nor the fleeing mob, get mauled once the babies are spawned.

Like I said, this is just a theory and I'd like to get some feedback on it from others experiences.

They not really babies, they're your next Grouping of mobs for the leve quest.

During the leve quest the last mob tends to run off to the next group for help, making it harder for you (in a sence) Thus having to fight off more mobs in a group, their aggro tends to change during this, (think its the original mob ran to saftey and the other mobs help him out.

I trained spawned leve mobs (A swarm of 3?) all over the map until I was able to regain health and kill a couple of them off.

I died, respawned, came back and killed the last one.

I think leve mobs in general don't deaggro?

Babies is just what my LS mates and I have been calling them. I used it to refer to them as a separate group from the initial list of targets. I mentioned all of what you said in my post. My point was attempting to figure out who it is they target.

Normal leve mobs will. I've lost hate on a few and was able to walk back up to them once deaggroed without being attacked.

The initial spawning of the new mobs will trigger a mass aggro, yes. But if you were to die and come back, you can attack the mob that fled and the others wont touch you for it.

I've been soloing 3 star leves and when this happens, I just pop the new spawns and let them kill me. Then, I'll go back and target the mob that fled (usually it's blue where the others are all red at this point).

On a somewhat related note: It is possible to kill the mob either before or while it's fleeing. However, this wont stop the new camp of mobs from popping.

It's been my experience that if you kill the mob before it can flee or before it reaches it's destination the targets will appear but will not come after you.
