I dont know know if anyone said this, i did a search and found nothing

I discovered today that their is a weird quirk in the optimal rank thing. maybe it was just me.

You can wear any rank/jobs equip etc but obviously better to wear your own stuff but level would just sync down (so i thought)

however when i used a lvl 22 chainmail shirt and a lvl 12 chianmail shirt (my glad is lvl 10/16) I found out i got better bonus from the lvl 12 shirt. It was small but it was there.

the 22 was +22 hp (my total hp then was 978)
the 12 was +12 hp (my total hp then was 980)

my def and all other stats followed the same path. so even though both shirts were to high for me i got better stats from the shirt that was closer to my level. I just thought i would share this nugget as maybe most people couldnt test this as getting a hold of those different level equip can be kinda hard (some people are charging crazy prices for something about to be killed)

Also, since its the end of the beta really and only a week till CE. anyone want that lvl 22 shirt? its yellow chainmail. I will give it to you for free. I am on Lindblum so just let me know if you want it. (sadly...its just a yellow version of the normal chianmail shirt....that made me cry)

Yep, equipment that is too high for you by even 1 or 2 ranks gets quite nerfed stats.

The same will happen if you equip gear that does not favor your class. You can have a new set of leggings that have higher stats in each category than the ones you're currently using, but if those leggings don't favor your class it will turn out to be less (unless they were considerably higher stats to start with).

I'm a bit disappointed that they made the penalty so severe. But with the freedom they're giving players to pick their class, I guess they probably had to do it that way to help balance things.
