Does any1 else feel that buff spell animations like stone skin and rampart etc should display a magical effect happening to that character rather than just a symbol displaying in front of the character.
For example I would rather have stone skin actually have the players skin appear to be made of stone for a couple of seconds, and rampart to be like a sphere around the character which then shrinks and the hexagons kind of stick to the character then disappear.

Its really not a big deal for me, just wondered what everyone else thought of this.

I never leveled high enough to get any of those spells. ; ; Does anyone have gameplay footage they can share? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

You get buff spells around rank 6-8, it takes about 1-2 hours to reach that rank.

If there wasn't maintenance I'd log on and at least get a few screenshots of stoneskin for you. It's essentially just that when you cast, a brown stone rectangular "wall" appears briefly in front of your character (your party members get the same sort of animation if you chose to cast stoneskin as an AoE instead of single target). The wall appears briefly each time the monster swings at you while the effect is still up, which is kinda interesting. The shock spikes animation is similar but the wall is for the most part translucent and slightly purple (I think there are some sparks involved as well to show that it's lightning-based, but I can't remember exactly). There's a picture linked in Elmer's post about the prelive event (the picture with the Lalafell/Miqo'te/Roegadyn party fighting a giant peist) which shows Rampart, not in motion of course, but the animation that appears in front of the caster.

Yea, same for Protect/Shell...and when you get hit there's the small animation showing that your protect/shell blocked some of it or whatever. Nothing special, but at least it's something.

Took me like an hour and a half of grinding leves to hit 4 for Cure, leveling seemed to go really slowly on my 3rd class (my physical level was already at like, 12). Somehow I took Marauder from 1-10 in no time at all when it was my starting class.
