I'm thinking that, this time around, the effects of attributes will be a little more straight forward.

It looks like each craft (!) has a primary attribute.

Alchemy:

Lv40 - Extrapolation
Temporarily increases influence of intelligence on craftsmanship.

Armorer:

Lv40 - Resolution
Temporarily increases influence of vitality on craftsmanship.

Blacksmith:

Lv40 - Sublimation
Temporarily increases influence of strength on craftsmanship.

Carpenter:

NONE - but something interesting!

Lv50 - Perfection
Ensures success of next synthesis. most effective for finished items.

Culinarian:

Lv40 - Devotion
Temporarily increases influence of piety on craftsmanship.

Goldsmith:

Lv40 - Manipulation
Temporarily increases influence of dexterity on craftsmanship.

Leatherworking:

NONE - but something interesting!

Lv50 - Clean slate
stop your current synthesis and begin anew. chance of failure increases with progress. most effective for enhanced items.

Weaver:

Lv40 - Determination
Temporarily increases influence of mind on craftsmanship.

As you can see, not every Craft seems to have a primary Attribute (at least derived from the given skills) - I listed abilities beneath Carpenter and Leatherworking because they are unique. Some crafts have similiar abilities - but those seems drasticlly stronger then say.. Alchemy's ability Hand of the Gods... and Armorer has nothing close to that at all at any level.

It's possible the list isn't complete or will be changed - but I thought it would be nice to get everything in one place as far as Attributes went - and what everyone thought about them.

Regardless - it's pretty straight forward for the time being what stat will have a bearing on each craft but maybe not quite as clear as to what magnitude each will play. Would a Marauder have a difficult time as an Alchemist, for instance; or perhaps a Thaumaturge would excel as an Alchemist but a Marauder wouldn't be much worse off.

I did not spend ANY of my attribute or elemental points in the OB - and doubt I'll have enough time to test how it's possible it relates to Alchemy before retail begins.

Anyone care to share anything they've found?

A simple but good observation Emotion! Im hoping SE reveals details on the direct effects of attribute points in regards to crafting and other such things. Thanks for your input!!

It might be possible that Carpenter and Leatherworker has no primary attribute, as there are only 6 attributes (8 in Alpha? I remember someone said they threw out Agility and Luck) and 8 DoH. I believe they haven't thought out what's the primary attribute for these two missings.

That would make sense. I have a lot of INT and was doing alchemy fine, while some one with no INT couldn't do it.

Same for weaver, I had some mind, it was working, but not perfectly, same other person had bad result with no mind

Well here's my experience.

I'm trying to level up all of the crafts a bit and so far i've done Leather, Weaving, Woodworking, Alchemy, and a bit of Goldsmitihng.

My Phys level is 19, Archer rank 14. I have dumped absolutely no points into Mind or Intelligence, everything has gone into Dexterity, Strength and a bit of Vitality.

So far:

Leatherworking: is working great for me. At rank 10 i can craft stuff that's 2 ranks above me with relative ease (haven't tried higher than that)and I have barely failed a synth at all.

Woodworking: same as leatherworking. Rank 7 i think, right now and so far it has been the same experience.

Weaving: omg. I really want to focus on Leather and Weaving but I am failing big time at weaving. I'm rank 9, but it's hard for me to even complete rank 1 recipes as opposed to leather and WW. The material becomes unstable pretty early on. I try waiting till i get a better color for crafting, and still I fail. Rank 10 recipes are *really* hard for me. I'm getting a little bit disheartened that i'm either probably going to have to spend some points on Mind, or forget about weaving. However some Leatherworking recipes require you to have a certain weaving rank (such as a set of pants i was trying to do, i got a message saying my weaving rank was too low to attempt the recipe). Trying to find info out there to see what people's thoughts are.

I haven't gotten that far into alchemy yet, but it may be the same situation, though I have had no trouble so far at rank 5.

If this is so, then maybe it really isn't that possible to do every craft... or maybe the person that wants to do that should spend their points evenly..at the expense of not specializing in something.

Just learning the ropes here. any thoughts?

You can redistribute your attribute points, you know. 25% every 30 mins(?). The button is in the menu where you distribute the stats you get for leveling up. So if you feel like spending a lot of time Weaving, go ahead and redistribute into MND and later you can take them out if need be.

yup, i know; although right now i think there's only speculation concerning the amount of points you can redistribute in a given time. However, for somebody who's interested in multitasking, and dabbling in a bit of everything, that isn't very practical as they would have to wait a long time to get all their points back.

meh. we're all still learning the ropes here. let's see how it goes.
