Hi everyone,

Today (thanks to angstycoder), we now have the ability to document disciple of the land results. What I need now is help with information. Info needed:

- Item acquired
- Grade
- Zone
- Type of harvesting

You can submit information in this thread or by commenting on the item page itself. I appreciate any submission and am totally giving rateups for info! Smiley: grin

View the harvest list here: http://ffxiv.zam.com/en/harvestlist.html

You can filter various ways to get the list you want, but unfortunately, since it's so new, there's hardly anything there.

Yes, Fisher is included, so let me know what you catch and where, salt or freshwater.

I can post a quick one from earlier today...

Crayfish, +1, +2, +3(Optimal 1 I think)

Freshwater-One of the 1st little streams outside of Gridania(Grade 1 fishing spot)

Used willow rod & lugworms and that's the only thing I would catch(Pretty sure changing rods would yield the same results there, bait would matter though)

I caught this same thing with moth pupas in Thanalan, around Ul'dah.

I'm just wondering...

Is this info going to assumed to be reliable post release date? Or is the purpose of this info just for the beta? I've not really been a part of a beta process on other games so I don't know how many things typically get tweaked in the final release. It would suck to spend hours and hours trying to catch a fish in a certain area that it no longer exists in. SE might not exactly provide update notes between beat and final specifying which things were changed. Thoughts?

We'll have to tweak once release comes out. Unfortunately, if it does happen, that's the only way to find out it's changed.

I would just like to point out.

The west side of TBS(the black shroud) and the east side of the area that starts with moh that has the crashed airship are both grade 6
Coerthas is grade 9 fishing.

You can catch grade 1 fish in a grade 6 fishing location as a grade 2 fisher, I caught a maiden carp in the crashed airship zone(name has left me).

Coral Butterfly
2
Ferry between Uldah and LL
Fishing Rod, salt water, floating minnow lure

Ala mhigan fighting fish, 1+
2
TBS
Fishing rod, freshwater

Yugr'am Salmon
2
TBS
Fishing rod, freshwater

Chocobo lure = freshwater only
Floating Minnow = Salt water and possibly freshwater?

Malm kelp, +1,+2,+3
1,2
Salt water locations
Fishing rod, using fresh water bait/lure in salt water
Malm kelp can somehow bite.

Well I have been running around Bentbranch/The Black Shroud with mining and botany and listed my results. All trees/mining spots are grade 1 and I have included the rank my skill is at the time of mining as im not sure if that impacts the type of items you get. Locations are listed by coordinates 'cause I was using that to keep track of where I had been. Shards are not included at they are to some degree determined by your elemental stats. (S) = the harvesting was done with the secondary tool

Continued my explorations and found some Grade 3 and 4 spots. However, these were quite difficult to harvest. Instead of getting 6 chances to mine the spot, I would only get 1 max before the node/tree was exhaused. And also instead of the stamina being enough for 3-4 swings I could only get 1 or 2 in, so not much room to get it right.

Bait wise (fresh water) I used Rat Tail, Bloodworms and Chocobo Fly, all seemed to work just the same (although rat tail had a lot of recasts). Each caught every fish type.
The exception was the Dark Bass, Black Ghost and River Crab.. but I think that had more to do with level of my fishing/lure level.

Saltwater was all bloodworm.
