How best to level a craft?Follow

I've hit a brickwall of sorts when it comes to leveling up my Weaving. Aside from the few leves I can do every 48 hours, I don't know how to most efficiently level my craft. I checked a list of recipes online, but I ended up just wasting a lot of gil. I don't want to repeat these mistakes during launch next week. Any tips on particularly cheap recipes to use to skill up?

Gotta help us out and provide a little more information. I can't tell by looking at your screen name what your Weaver rank is.

i'd wait til next week when final recipe's will be posted, some may change, some easier things will come..

I've been playing around with other crafts after i got 12 weaving cause i just wanted to check them out, but thats around the 'cotton' phase, saving up all your cotton bolls would be smart because at about 15 or so, wanna get a bunch and make cotton yarn

unfortunatly, unlike XI, things are backwards, you can make the full items before you make the components, but its all learning

I'd personally recommend teleporting between the cities and doing local weaver leves with rank 5 and 10 weaving every couple of days, so that way you're not spending your own money or supplies (get some recipes maybe too) plus you get supplies

In the end, guess ya just gotta stay dedicated yet diversify yourself lol (that makes NO sense except to me lol)

So I'm not the only one puzzled about being a tremendous yarn maker, but **** poor at turning that yarn into cloth?
Yet I can skip that step and buy supplies to make full gear...very odd...

My apologies, I'm a nab and only rank 5 which I've attained all through leves.

Keep busting up the moko grass into wool. It's cheap, it's easy, and you'll wind up with more product that you can use than if you try jumping too far ahead and blow up all of your mats. Keep in mind that converting the wool into cloth doesn't even start to get easier until about rank 10, so just hang on to all the wool you make until you get to at least rank 8/9. Also keep in mind that even though you get slightly less Weaver skill points from each successful synth after every time you rank up, an over-rank skillup from a successful synth is still much, much higher than the skillup from a failed synth.

Problem with (moko grass > hemp yarn) is that it require 8 lighting shard which can be hard to come by. Shard is going to be expensive (if you can find any) on release, that is wat i believe.

Your other option is to make hemp halfgloves, requires 2 wind shard and iirc 4 earth shard. It's material is more expensive but the earth shards are easier to gather (wind shard are in short supply tho); to make (1 cloth + 1 yarn). You should be able to sell for a profit (if u sell at 2k) with all the new players, u can also try to rob them by overcharging.

For future notice, there's a forum for weavers and pretty much any class on here. This is the one for weavers:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=184

There's not a whole lot on there yet. But it should help out.

I'm well aware of that, the sub forums aren't anywhere nearly as active and I enjoy active discussions before I go to bed =p I'm also just trying to cram as much knowledge as I can before launch next week so pardon my posting in General.
