Read the story here!

What could that missing 1% be?!

hm...

(Just in case, yes, I'm being intentionally silly about it.)

Given how large this game is, it could be a multitude of things. Hopefully one of those things is sorting. ;)

If the game has been in production for 5 years, 1% = 18.25 days. Since it comes out in a week, it should be about 99.62% done by now.

Don't get me wrong here, I like this game... but...

Doesn't that description seem not so endless?

"Enjoy our game, you can fight, fish, and sell the loot from fighting and fishing!"

Seems so bleak.

I bet you abused extra bold synthesis at end, didn't you?

On topic: Honestly after reading the retail final notes the game seems fairly complete for a new MMORPG, I'd say that this missing 1% would be only to deliver... just to deliver.

well think about it, does it say that 99% of the game is in beta? No, it means that its 99% ready for launch, meaning that we will have that 99% plus the final % on the 22 for us CE preorders

also means they have all the patches ready to fix the ui lag and such

Based on SE's comments during PAX I finally made a decision and stopped by the EBGames on my way home from work and paid in full for a CE pre-order, so at this point I'm screwed whether they make all the "needed" changes or not. I'll give them credit...they're talking the talk (albeit still not as frequently as I might like). Now it's time to see if they can walk the walk.

Their dvd burners are stuck at 99 %, so they can't deliver copies. Probably they made a burning client too well.

Joke aside, I think what misses is a working recruitment feature. The current one doesn't work since there is no "hire" or "join" button .

The 1% missing is a useful way to ignore gil sellers.

Now its pretty hard to see the exact name of "Hrsadffsf Dfgsdfredsdssd" when ten sellers are spamming in a camp since other spammers have almost the same name and chat is scrolling way to fast to read.

Right now the only way is to look around, find a spammer among loads and loads of normal adventurers, open blacklist and type the name of spammer. Then look for next spammer, ..., ...

It's really .999%.

Less than a week away. I don't think about much else.

This week is very much like riding a roller coaster slowly up to the first high peak. Clack. Clack. Clack. Headed in straight line inexorably towards the Woooooo and the Hooooooo!

99% according to their marketing experts, since 100% is "good enough", not "ready". I'd say 70% is more closer to the truth.

The way I see it is the game will always be 99% done - meaning its completely finished. The 1% remaining will be everything the game gets added onto it from now 'til a decade down the road or however many years it lives on.

Maybe they still need to finish cutscenes #1093736 through #1095672? Sounds about right since 99% of gameplay is watching a cutscene.

That 1% is actually stuck in a time machine creating an infinite loop of never being finished but claiming to always be 99%.

Actually design i think it's close, but in terms of the bugs and other stuff it's not. Developers to fix that stuff takes time and it might be more than 1% time and "completeness" to fix all the issues. I know for my work our new software has about 3 guys to fix all the little things and in actuality need a lot more.
