I am constantly getting low send/receive rates that has been causing lots of lag when fighting. Does anyone else have that prob? Any advice? I am hardwired into cable modem.

One of the primary purposes of the open beta is to perform server stress tests. Low send/receive rates are a natural byproduct of that process.

My connection has been like that all throughout beta. It doesn't usually bother me too much, but sometimes it really does get low enough to affect the flow of battle and it can be a pain.

I'm on wireless not even 10 feet from the router with ports forwarded.

Wireless is naturally slower than wired, I recommend running through ethernet, especially since you're close anyways. If you can't then it's not the biggest deal, but you'll see instant and obvious improvements w/ games.

To help out your search for some answers, OP, I'll say this:
I've been at around 50-60 s/r when out on my own in the wilderness, and then 60s and 200-600r when at camps or in cities.
I usually stay around yellow-green, sometimes spiking into red

Is there even a correlation between send/receive and lag? I thought low send/receive just meant there wasn't much going on. I thought it was the color coded ring that mattered, which almost always in yellow for me with the occasional green spike.

I have noticed that ever since last night's maintenance my connection to the servers has been abysmal at best. I keep getting Red Ringed making it difficult to do... well, anything.

So long as you are near your wireless router (within 30 feet, line of sight), your wireless connection will be faster than any internet connection you would have coming into your house. 802.11n is 70-160Mbps. Wired is 100 or 1000 Mbps. However, cable modems have a theoretical max of 30Mbps, with most people lucky to see 6Mbps in real use. Unless you have a real spotty wireless connection, there is no effective difference between wired and wireless networking at this point when accessing the internet.
