Yeah, so during lunch break I took a wander down to the local game retailers in the city...three of the biggest chains in Australia all sold out! Good to see the turnout is going to be strong locally.

Haven't ordered mine yet, but luckily the local store I called still has them, so I guess it's late night shopping Thursday for me...

Ok, so y'all gonna love this story.

Turned up to the local store of mine...no copies of the Collector's Edition left.

Guy at the counter asks, "Is this your copy? Are you Paul? You preordered right?"

For about 10 seconds, I really thought about replying, "Yeah, I"m Paul." Then I thought about how bad this Paul would have felt, I couldn't do it haha!

Anyway, I managed to weasel the guy to ship over the last Collector's Edition copy the company had. But now it's Final Dilemma XIV - who do I give the copy to - myself, my wife, or my brother?!

That's awesome. I'm expecting the game to do pretty well. Take it for yourself. There'll be plenty around on the 30th.

If you are in Australia and you are looking for a place to pre-order the CE, you can try online. I got mine from Game.com

Game - Linky
JB Hi-Fi - Linky

Are two locations that seem to still have the item instock

Hope that helps

Tried both today, called the stores and they told me they're not accepting anymore pre-orders :/

JBHiFi appears to be still taking pre-orders through their website :) And are the cheapest too overall.

I work in the CBD and could theoretically pick one up on release day, but I dare not chance it so preordered. I only hope they get it too me at by COB on the 23rd!

T_T Awww, what a pity. I only got mine about a week ago. I was going to order it online at EBgames but when I went to look they had run out and I was petrified that I had missed out, so I started searching everywhere which is how I found those links.

You could try these links for Ebay

Ebay.com.au
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

Or try Amazon.com

Nah sadly I turned up at the CBD JB Hi Fi in Sydney at lunch today, sold out (as was the EB on the opposite side of the street). Guess I'll try my local JB/EB but highly doubt it, they have shipped the game already, just won't unlock for play until official release date.

What's the likely ETA on the online pre-orders? The JB site says dispatch date is the 22nd. Does that mean it's likely to arrive ON the 22nd or within a few days? :/

Not sure - I mean, I didn't expect any stores to have them on the shelf today but there they were (at least until they sold out). Online ordering probably means they package it out at their warehouse and send it via registered post, which means it'll be slower than just bulk shipping to their stores.

Just to update you guys, apparently JB Hi Fi have their preordering stock (through their website) and the stock they ship to stores. They're not allowed to ship the website stock to stores, so if you want a CE copy you can still buy it online via pre-order even though their storepersons will tell you they're out of stock!!

Saves me $15 per copy (I have to buy three of them)...internet ftw

Now, I'm assuming you're a good man that would give his wife or brother his last penny, last morsel of food, last sip of water or last stitch of clothing. That being said, this is FINAL FANTASY XIV...you have to draw the line somewhere.

Edit: Just saw you're getting copies, congratulations!

I went down to my local EB games to preorder the CE the day it was announced.

It is a shame that I wont be able to pick it up at midnight on the 22nd, I was told that there weren't enough preorders to warrant a midnight launch. Guess I will be there first thing in the morning...

Wife. That should be an easy one. Last thing you want is a ****** off wife because you took a copy of the game that could have potentially been hers.

Lucky for me I used to work for a supplier for Mighty Ape, so they're saving me a copy. Their pre orders were sold out for a while, but it is available again.
