Is it a plud and play controller or is it a Hard wired one? The plug and play ones do not work. If it is a hard wired one you need to go to the config on your desk top. hit the start button on desk top to get to it. They you will need to set what the buttons will do. After that it should work fine.

I have the wireless witht he PC adapter and it worked fine as soon as I plugged it it. FFXIV doesn;t recognize it right away, need to go into the FF config and set it up.

Can you elaborate a little? Is it not turning on or is it turned on but it's not working with the FFXIV beta for you? Is your controller wired or wireless? What OS do you have?

Assuming you are using a hardwired 360 controller, do the following:
goto > C/ program files >> Square Enix >>> FF XIV beta version >> FF XIV config and open it.

Click on the "Gamepad" tab and make sure, the box at the top is set to the 360 controller. It is set to no controller by default.

If you have a wireless controller you need the PC adapter for it thats all i know about that. I use a wired controller and had zero problems with it. I can't help you with the wireless controller but i'm sure someone can.

You either need a hardwired controller, or you need to buy the wireless adapter for windows.

You need to change the language. it's right there when you open up the config menu. It's the only input box on the screen.

yeah the wireless one didn't work for me even with the wired adapter - got a wired one and it worked perfectly.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.
