WHY IN GOD'S NAME do they have to have an invisible wall just above your characters head and another just below it's feet that the camera can't pass though.

ARRRGGGGGG!

Get rid of it SE it's infuriating, worse than that it's the most annoying thing ever. It totally kills immersion. It's like playing the game while wearing handcuffs. Restricting the player's field of vision in a full 3D environment is one of the cardinal sins of game design.

Sorry for the rant but this really, really really drives me crazy.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I beg to disagree but having being stuck in the midle of a hill I can tell you that you kind of can move underground. Whilegoing up hill I somehow went through the ground and ended being able to move horizontaly but not vertically untill I went back to an area that the ground was under the level of "my" feet and the character then dropped to what should be the normal height.

I'm fine with the invisible ceiling at my feet, but I want them to make it so that the camera at least still keeps moving when I use the keyboard. Currently the only easy to to look straight up is to use the mouse. Invisible wall above the head is stupid though.

The invisible ceiling, ie camera-restriction, is really, really annoying. It's triple annoying that locking onto a target tightens my world view to the exclusion of anything else. I often can't swing the camera up enough to see the thing I'm hitting if it's small. I happen to like birds-eye view of battles and I would like to have some hope of spotting the additional mob wayyyy off to my left just about to join the fray, instead of being forced into this narrow cone vision.

It's a beautiful, gorgeous world. Why IS the zoom allowance so tight?

I'm pretty sure they call that the GROUND. ?

Stop trying to look up your mithra's skirt and down her top. Problem solved.

I noticed that sometimes i can look straight up, and sometimes i can't. I'm not exactly sure how i was able to change it. It may have something to do with how far you have your character zoomed in.

Walk up to a ledge and then move the camera in front of your character, then try to move the camera down. The wall is still there even over empty air.

It depends on how close you have the camera to your character. The wall hasn't moved it's just that the camera target (your character) is now closer.
