Maybe I'm just daft, but I didn't notice until tonight that when you successfully evade an attack, your character says something like "a-ha!". Maybe because I had vent going a lot and didn't tonight.

It's nice to have and makes me reconsider some actions that require evading to proc(I think my lvl 4 pug action "Haymaker" was one).

Very useful for people like me who get frustrated trying to decide whether it was me or the dodo who did the evading when I see the words flash over my character;) I had taken haymaker out of my slots because that was just annoying to try and watch for "Evade!" all the time=/

Anyone else notice this useful, audible tool? =)

Yeah, I noticed that early on myself. But you mentioned Vent, which will likely become a constant, especially later on in the game. And eventually, the euphoria of the games sound will wear off, and I'll be listening to alternate audio. So compromises will be made eventually! But yeah, I like all the little details like this in the game, such as characters facial expressions.

Now that I have given it more thought, I'm not sure how useful it'll be, as I will be on vent most of the time:/

Tonight was an exception, as my friends were all otherwise engaged. I might just skip slotting those actions that require me to stare at my character's back for the "evade!" to appear.

I can always slot other useful stuff anyways. Thaumaturge and Marauder abilities come to mind...

Noticed it since CB. I thought it was kinda cute for my Miqo'te to hop out of the way and laugh at the attacker. It makes combat [at least appear] more fluid and lively than just two stiff mannequins taking shots at one another. Unfortunately, animations are so buggy right now it's still a pain in the *** to watch your movements for cues. That, and I'm not entirely sure your character says something every time they dodge. I've evaded a couple of times and seen her move back, but I didn't hear her say anything.

At first when my Mi'qote did that I thought to myself "Sweet! now I'll know when to use haymaker." Unfortunately they don't always shout when you evade, in fact i think I've only seen it happen on maybe 5% of my evades.

This brings up an important point, SE really needs to make it so reactive abilities like haymaker stay "grayed out" until they are actually usable. It's far too easy for "You evade the attack" to get lost in the chat spam.

Good idea, I think in Lord of the Rings Online they had it set like that, there was if I remember correctly an option in the interface to also make the game make a noise at you where a reactive ability was available. Always useful for the half watching TV half playing the game moment. Hopefully in time SE will implement these ideas.

I'm sure in retail they'll have the option to change the color of specific message in the chatlog like in FFXI at bare minimum. Though I dunno why they don't dim the abilities at the getgo, since your abilities dim out when you don't have enough TP or they're on CD anyway.
