Still trying to decide which server I'm gonna roll on, I have different groups of friends going to different places. I look forward to meeting NEW friends, but I think I have a problem: I think I'm racist.
No, I don't care about where you are from, your skin color, or religion/culture. But I prefer to play with my "own kind". That being, former FFXI players. I know FFXIV is a different game, I wouldn't play it if I wasn't confident in SE's commitment in giving us new experiences. I've played several MMO's over time, and I've even come to like each of them for their own uniqueness. But I know all I will do is compare the new game, to the old game. Reminisce of the good times. I'm sure I'll outgrow that frame of mind after some time, but I think I'd feel more comfortable with some FFXI veterans to explore the new game with.
I guess I just fear playing with people, with limited or no experience with FFXI or SE for the fact they may not like or accept the game in the long run, and up and bail. There's a certain kind of patience required to deal with SE's shenanigans, and for better or worse, I'd like to jib with people who've "been there, done that". I'm sure over time, an old crotchety ******* like myself, will learn to accept, and get along with everyone else. And don't hate me, cause I don't harbor any ill will towards you.
I'm just a MMO bigot. But, I'm trying REAL hard to change my ways.
Seriously, JK! I look forward to starting off in this new world with ALL of you come 22nd! :)
