Hey people, I'm just curious how many of you have tried to register your bonus code from ff13 on the SE account page? As far as I know, I'm doing everything correct.. took the bonus code from the "members" website, tried adding a service account to FFXIV on the SE account page, and yet I still get the message that "The entered code is invalid" or something along those lines.

I wanna get them Asuran Armguards, but unless I get a reply from Support, it doesn't seem likely considering you have to register the code prior to charcater creation.. Anyone else having any luck or problems with this?

It helps if you can be more specific in detailing the error message. In this case, "or something along those lines" kind of defeats the purpose of bringing up the issue.

Uhm.. I was specific.. "The entered code is invalid"

perhaps I could have omitted something along those lines, but if you would have read the rest of the post, it's fairly obvious the point I was trying to get across..

kinda defeats the purpose of posting if you're always going to be so noncontributory..?

I forgot where I wrote down the bonus code. Where can I find it on the members page, or is it even possible?

Try this link. http://member.square-enix.com/na/features/ff13/serialcode/

or.. Members page, Features, FF13, Bonus Codes, then click the link that says "Review Your PlayStation®3 Bonus Code and Bonus Details"

Supposedly, these are the steps to register that bonus code.
1. Log into the Square Enix Account Management System https://secure.square-enix.com/account
2. Select the "Select Service" option under "Service and Options"
3. Select "FINAL FANTASY XIV," and then "Add a service account"
4. Enter the corresponding item code, and then select "Next"

Didn't work for me, gave me the invalid code message.

Same exact thing happened to me, no more then 10 minutes ago.

Thanks got the code. Also getting Code Invalid. Are both of your Members and SE Account from the same region? My Members is NA and SE Account is EU, so that might be my problem. Or it could be that its too early to enter them, unless others did it, I dont know.
#8 Sep 18 2010 at 3:42 AM Rating: Decent
Might have something to do with trying to register the code to the XIV beta. Maybe wait and try entering it when you've actually got the retail version of XIV registered to your members account?

Ok, tried again but this time all the letters in uppercase. That should work except for one thing, they are region locked. Got this message:
"The code's region is inapplicable.
You can only enter codes from the same region as your Square Enix account."

So if anyone by any chance has EU code that they want to trade for NA code, send me a pm. I know it a long-shot though.

It not being the retail version is most likely the issue here, makes enough sense for me.

wont work, i have both eu account and code and still get invalid.

although what worry is that it say if you copy past the code from member site to the registration are it will cut off the code.

Invalid code here too, going to try it closer to the launch, and if still no dice I'll try it again the day of the launch. I've also emailed their support, will post back if I hear anything.

most of the time, the invalid code was because of mistyping '0' and 'O'. I had the same problem and solved it after changing a zero to Ough...

good luck..

Was the FF13 copy New or Used? If used, the person before you could have already registered it. I remember before I bought my Used copy of FF13, I noticed most every Used copy had the code available, but with no guarantee that the code has not already been registered. I got lucky with my code and it worked.

Mm hmm... screenshot or it didn't happen.

All the codes are invalid right now because that service isn't up and running yet.

I would try again after the 20th.

I used this code back when I bought FF13.. got my 80pts...
Also, there was a key to reg for early FF14 testing... appears to be worthless

My only guess is that if that code is registered on your account, after the release of the game, hopefully it will activate. OR the notice the key does not fit in the Add service for FF14 and let us re-enter the code.

That 5x4 code for beta testing is also the code for the armbands

At account management:(https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account)
"Select Service" > click on the FFXIV Online logo>click the blue button that says "Add a service account" and enter the code there

If you didn't keep track of that code, try this:(at this site:http://member.square-enix.com/na/)
http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?game=268&mid=1284938439326988492&page=1&howmany=50#msg1284954016139352557

If you just have the original 4x4 code and never registered that do it here:
http://member.square-enix.com/na/
Which will give you the 5x4 code needed

Me too.

Note for those trying to or going to try and register their codes: Make sure you use caps for the alphabetical portions of your code otherwise it will tell you your code is invalid.

tried entering that 20 digit code i found on:

http://member.square-enix.com/na/features/ff13/serialcode/

and the error message it gives me is :

Quote:
There are no service accounts to which a code can be registered.

So im safe with assuming that the code must be entered AFTER i get my copy of XIV installed first?
heard of people being able to enter it before they even get the game, if so, is that the same account you had beta on?
if so, that may be part of the problem because i didnt have beta access on that account

anyone having same issue?

Try it here:

Then "Select Service" > click on the FFXIV Online logo>click the blue button that says "Add a service account" and enter the code there

If that doesn't do it than it may be the not having been in beta issue?

A) register FFXIV first
B) not all ffxiii codes grant a bonus item. if your card inside your game's pack does not say this will grant an item then tough luck =/ I'm in that boat too and am assuming that most EU people didn't get one either.

Yea.. that doesnt work... so im assuming its the "account not being in beta" thing

because when i go to http://member.square-enix.com/na/features/ff13/serialcode/ it has the picture of the 4x4 code that i registered a while ago and created account, near the bottom where it says "Your Bonus Code: " its blank directly next to it,

but it has a hyperlink taking you to another page where you can "Review your Playstation3 Bonus Code and Bonus Details"
When i click that link, takes me to a different page (one that i posted all the info from) with a 20-digit number near the bottom.. is THAT my code? if so.. that error im getting is what happens when i enter it.

or was the code supposed to be on that first page right before ya click on the "review your playstation3 bonus code and bonus details"

Far as I know it "should" be that one, the 5x4 code after clicking Review your PS3 Bonus Code and Bonus Details
That's been working for a lot of people

Well.. im about to give up on it, doesnt mean im not playing the game, but i will complain a lot (seems all you can do.. cant contact SE for support in any such way because their 'email response' they dont seem to respond to at all)

but if it is that 20-digit code (its not in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX format, its in XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, dunno if that makes any help or not)

and forget posting on Core...they're about as helpful as a new hole in the head.

administrators are going on a thread closing frenzy saying "well, some people can get it, so dont need any more posts about it" ....um... not everyone is getting it in, so i dont think closing every thread about it is gonna help anyone lol

The 20 digit code is the correct code to enter. If you tried entering that code and made sure to have the alphabetical portions in caps and it still wouldn't work then I'd have to agree with you in that you're unable to enter it currently due to not having been in the beta. I assume you'll have to wait until you have a "Final Fantasy XIV service account" before it will accept your code.

This is strange, I was linked here from FFXIVCore or I wouldn't have seen this, someone was saying they read here that you couldn't use XIII promotion code across regions.

Did you all try to register the promotion code after the game code? If not, you still had this problem?

I registered my Japanese Asuran Armbands code before getting the game in the mail, (same day) and registered my NA game and had no issues receiving the item. For the record my account is also NA.

I was under the impression that the item codes are not region locked, because this worked fine for me. The only thing I can think of is the order in which I registered them. The other possibility is that for some reason the NA and/or EU codes are locked but not the JP codes.

Proof (ish):

Ok, so I had registered FFXIII when the game came out and through away the code because I figured I didn't need it anymore as I had just registered the game. I just registered FFXIV and no item. What am I doing wrong?
