Strange Problem - Cannot click "Log In" Button...Follow

So I recently reformatted my computer (about two-three months ago) and noticed a weird problem - none of the SE websites (SE accounts, the Beta dev site, etc.) wouldn't load in Firefox when they worked fine before I'd reformatted. I tried in IE, which seemed to work fine... so I chalked it up to an add-on conflict from Firefox and moved on. (I've since determined it's not an add-on conflict and still don't understand why Firefox won't load it...)

Regardless, about a week or so ago, I noticed that when I tried to log into the beta to play around with different character appearance builds, the game itself wouldn't allow me to click the log in button. I figured this was due to maintenance or something until it became a persistent issue. Thought it might be a client issue, so I uninstalled and am patiently waiting for the 22nd.

Then today, when I read about the new "Lodestone" site for logging in and checking info, I found it wouldn't load up in Firefox (no surprise). When trying in IE, however, it gives me the same problem that the game did - I can't click the log in button. Additionally, the log in page is no longer loading all the items on the page. The VeriSign button, as well as the two software keyboard and help buttons no longer load in IE either. This worries me as I'm concerned I have some kind of virus despite my security.

Any techies out there have any idea what could have happened? I'm going to start trying some random system restores to see if I can find a point at which I CAN log in. The confusing part is I haven't downloaded or installed anything unusual recently and my PC is pretty secure. I use AVG and scan daily, and have Spy Bot S&D, as well as several add-ons for Firefox that prevent pretty much anything from running off a website that I don't want running. Regardless, I'd rather avoid having to reformat and reinstall (AGAIN) if I don't have to.

have you updated firefox with the latest flash/shockwave plugins? Are you running adblock or any other type of blocking plugin with firefox? These may be causing an issue.

I do have add block and flash block running, but I've tried to access the websites with all my add-ons totally shut off and it didn't make a difference. With Firefox I can now log into the SE account site, and the players site, but not the dev site. I'll check on shock wave/flash, but it auto updates on my computer.

I'm more concerned with IE and the client itself not loading everything and not letting me click the log in button at this point. If it won't let me do that,I can't play the game :(

Maybe try out Chrome. I have been using chrome since it released and I love it as my default browser. Its faster then firefox or IE and it does have available plugins like adblock and noscript.

You're the third person to recommend it to me, in fact. As long as it's as secure as Firefox, I'm good.

Did a system restore - things are working fine again. Dunno what I did in that time, but I guess I'll have to reinstall f2p LoTRO again. Hopefully that's not the issue. Sigh...
