Hi, I live in the US, and havent bought the game yet.. I called Gamestop, but they said they will only have copies for people who already pre-ordered, and are no longer accepting pre-orders.. I REALLY want to play on launch day, is there any way for me to do this?

please help!

I know Best Buy in my area is still taking Pre-Orders. Go to a store other than Gamestop. Either that, or browse the stores "on" launch day early. It's very possible a few stores will not end up meeting their stock in pre-orders and may have a few copies waiting to be bought.

You might be able to try Wal-mart, but I really don't know if they'll have it or not. I wouldn't get your hopes up for the CE this close to release, but the SE might be more available.

You know, I tried calling Wal-Mart earlier to see if they were going to get any copies in stores on the 22nd out of curiousity.. the lady who answered seemingly looked it up on the computer and told me she only saw something for PS3 and Xbox360.. it seems like Wal-Mart is going to have an early release for the PS3 version with an exclusive XBox360 version? lolz

Seriously though, she probably was looking at FF13.. but I didn't bother to inquire further. Maybe I'll call back later.

To be honest, I doubt they will have it though.. as Walmart.com says the product is "Not Sold in Stores." If someone wants to give their local Wal-Mart a call though, it wouldn't hurt to post some more feedback.

I preordered through BestBuy.. store opens at 9am here.

Gamestop only holds reservations for 48 hrs before they put them out on the shelf, the gamestop I go to will put people on a list for those unclaimed preorders, I'd ask them if they have something like that at yours. Chances are pretty good that you won't be able to play for a couple days anyway due to the fact that SE is behind the wheel.

Amazon is always a good option for getting things like this if your not able to get it anywhere else.

You could try to order it on Amazon with release-day shipping.

I work at a Best Buy. I pre-ordered. As of today at close, mine had not come in yet. Our in store inventory systems for the whole company did not even recognize the product's sku # from bestbuy.com yet. I've never had a problem with any PS3 titles I've pre-ordered before, we've always had plenty...but we have a very small PC games section in all the locations near me. Maybe your Best Buy already got their's and know they have extras, but I'm getting nervous about mine.

Obviously they've purchased a power leveler to get them to this point.

Personally, I think this is the best option, especially if you're worried about stores near you running out. I just ordered mine a couple hours ago and got release-day shipping for a dollar.

Not sure about walking in, but you can always do a preorder for store pickup, that's what I did, then hopefully I'll get an email on the 22nd that my order's available. (Hopefully. >.>)

Do you get the Onion Helm if you pick up the CE without preordering?

That is a very good question. From what I've read the code for the content is included in the box which usually means that it'll be in all first run copies of the game.

Exactly. That, and there will likely only be one run of the CE, so if you snag one, you're going to get a code for the item.

There's even a chance you could find the CE in a Target store. I remember being able to pick up the CE of the Burning Crusade expansion of WoW at Target on its launch day.

As a couple of people mentioned here try Best Buy. You can pre-order on their website, and the store will be required to hold one back for you. I did the same thing with Starcraft II. I had pre-ordered the regular edition elsewhere and decided the night of the midnight release I wanted a CE. We picked up the regular version since that's what I preordered, and on the way home my wife came up with the idea to check the Best Buy site, and told me to not open the game so we could return it if Best Buy had CEs. I literally pre-ordered the CE of SCII that night from Best Buy on the webstie and picked it up the next morning and promptly returned the regular version.

Gamestop may only be required to hold onto a pre-order for 48 hours, but for the most part if its a collector's edition they will make an exception, at the store I worked at for example we had two Aion collectors edition's still in stock that were held for pre-order, and that game came out how long ago exactly?
