and heaven forbid they ever get the bright idea to give mobs moves that specifically break things... nightmares of fighting knights in fft and having them break something irreplaceable... granted it wouldn't destroy the item... but how horribly inconvenient it will be to be off on a grand adventure only to have something important break.
It's funny that you would bring this up. I've never played an MMO besides FFXI, so the whole "durability" thing is completely new to me. A friend & I were talking about the repair system today and he mentioned that in other games, if you let your item wear all the way and still use it, they could break. No matter if it was a 100 million dollar item or a 5 dollar item.
Now, as of yet I've heard nothing of items breaking. But I'll be pretty mad if they do. Especially at the extremely fast rate that everything seems to be wearing out.
