So thursday I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered my graphics card. it came with a free game that i figured would hold me over until release and the est. delivery was 2 days.

NOW I'm thinking I would get it on Saturday but it didnt ship out until friday for some dumb *** reason. so now im thinking... great now I have to wait until monday. yesterday i checked and it said est. today. well NO. for some reason it still hasnt moved and its getting closer and closer to release day. the new game is now a waste because i will be engrossed in FFXIV, if its DOA im screwed out of the extra $25 for CE because i wont be able to play at all during that time while sending it back. **** if 2 days actually = 5 that means at least 10 days worth of shipping alone. i could have just bought the standard edition.

long story short, pray for me that it arrives tomorrow and works so my head doesnt splode...

lolz.. You're not very optimistic are you? I've had nothing but awesome experience in dealing with Newegg, how dare you taint their sacred name!

Seriously though.. Neweggs UPS 3 day shipping doesn't carry over onto weekends, meaning Saturday and Sunday typically don't count towards those 3 days. Btw.. for you to have ordered something on Thursday and got it shipped on a Friday is actually fairly decent.. if you wanted it shipped on Thursday, you should have paid $2.99 for Rush Processing, and it would have been guaranteed to ship out same day or your money back, as long as you ordered before 12 p.m.

That reminds me I hesiatated on checking out my order on newegg, because they were asking me for the phone number on the back of my card. I have never had to input this in years of online shopping, is this legit? Something about that seems strange to me.

I have nothing but...wait for it--eggcellent service from Newegg as well, I don't even have to pay for same day/next day shipping and I'll get it next day regardless. :D Sometimes they get a little slow (who doesn't?) but generally I have...wait for it again--eggcellent service.

I thought UPS delivered on Saturday's since I've seen them run before, but rule of thumb is always order on monday or tuesday for your best bet.

Legit. 9/10 if someone is using a stolen card number they won't know this information unless they've stolen the physical card itself and not just the number (the general way to steal card info).

Yeah this is why I hesitate to send them that complete info, higher risk someone can nab the info and misuse it.
Oh well.

Things like SSL exist for a reason. If you're seriously sweating putting in a phone number which is publically available anyway, you may want to consider adding a tinfoil hat to your order. In fact, how can we be sure you're really you?

Well, I got kinda miffed when I ordered from Newegg.ca thinking the order ships from Canada. Especially considering I pass a huge Newegg warehouse on my way to work.

Then I found out that my shipment got split into two. One from NJ, one from LA.

Got to love newegg and their shipping. The warehouse by your house must not have had them in stock.

From all of my experiences with newegg, I've learnt to order during the weekend, or beginning of week and expect it on Thursday/Fridays.

I've always had good luck with newegg, but the main warehouse is one state over from me so I order one day and get it the next if I order early enough.

the only exception is the time the CPU cooler I ordered shipped from CA, that did take 5 days.

All but my case on my $3800 rig was purchased from NewEgg. I didn't have to RMA a single componenet and delivery was always timely and perfect.

I live close to a UPS main hub though and close to a NewEgg warehouse, so I almost always get my deliveries the next business day even when using UPS 3-day. I do use the $2.99 rush for most purchases though. I am too impatient to wait.

I haven't had any problem with Newegg products other than one minor issue, all the boxes when I receieve them in the mail look like they've been handled by Ace Ventura, luckily, so far, everything has worked.

It will most likely be a straight forward install with no hassels. I had no problems at all when I upgraded my card a couple months ago. But remember to go online and update your video drivers before launch!

Reading comprehension ftw troll. Since i do not know which card that person ordered and do not know every deal newegg has, i really wouldn't know.

Could also be Just Cause 2 (460). Wonder what else they're trying to push, hehe (besides all the trial cards for SC2).

Newegg is probably the best place there is to deal with when it comes to electronics and computer parts. I don't know the last time I didn't have to enter my CVC code on my credit card when dealing online.

You have to read the fine print. Just because you place an order on a certain day for 3 day shipping doesn't mean you get the item in 3 days. Or 4. If they're really busy they might not process your order for a day or two. When you check out, there's that rush processing option for an extra 2 or 3 bucks. If they can, they'll process your order same day you place it. If they can't, you get refunded that 2 or 3 bucks.

I ordered my whole system on monday and had everything on thursday. Ordered an SSD on the following monday with the 'rush processing fee' and had the SSD by wednsday, along with my coolermaster hyper+ 212. I ordered the coolermaster the same monday as the whole system and it took them that long to ship me a single part(coolermaster's website) compared to newegg sending me more than 10 parts in the same time, from two different warehouses.

Nothing DOA, booted and stable w/ first build attempt. It was beautiful.

Next time don't click so fast through things, it definitely pays in mental chill pills to read and understand the text they offer you as you are clicking through the checkout process. :)

UPS has a special "Saturday delivery" service that gets handled by a different group of drivers and costs quite a bit more than whatever the standard shipping option is.

It's a service that's added onto one you're already paying for. For instance, if you send something 2nd Day Air on a Thursday, it will normally arrive the following Monday (two normal business days). If you send it that same day 2nd Day Air with Saturday delivery, it will be there Saturday instead. Of course, in this example you'd probably spend less just sending the thing Next Day Air and getting it there Friday, but that's really beside the point.

...my name/sig is so appropriate sometimes.

Very good advice. in truth I was thinking something along the lines of "i've decided now hurry and order before you change your mind again!

Yay, I win, lol. ^^

In any case, hopefully it comes in for you. Not sure if JC2 came with any 460 on Newegg or just the Cyclone (I passed on the combo deal myself... "free? nah...."), but the 460's a solid card and I'm really happy with my Cyclones (for all of the couple of weeks I've had them, lol), so enjoy! If you did get the Cyclone and have an HDMI monitor, they do include a mini-HDMI/HDMI adapter in the package even though it doesn't say it on Newegg. Was a nice surprise because I didn't want to have to go buy an adapter or a new cable.

Do be warned that it's possible to have an issue where the drivers will think your monitor is a TV (even if it's not). I hooked up the second 460 to a 24" monitor via DVI and the control panel thought it was a TV over HDMI. -.- Had to do a registry tweak to fix it. Let me know if you happen to run into that (hopefully not) and I'll try and dig up the info again.
