Ah what a fun morning I have had (well, it was amusing to me at least.)
So I pretty much realised I wouldn't get my copy in the post today, (reminds me I need to cancel that now) so resolved to go out to town in the morning - there are 4 games shops there - and have a look to see if they had any spares.
Not hugely advertised, mid week, hopefully everyone else would have ordered online, shops just opened, I thought I was in with a good chance. With any luck, I'd be in and out and grab a McD's breakfast on my way home in the half hour.
First Game I went into the staff only found out that morning that the game was actually being released, and she didn't have a clue about potential deliveries or anything - seemed pretty blasé about it actually.
Next stop, Gamestation. Girl there (pretty cute) had also only recenlty found out about releasing today, although a little more clued up, and someone had been in just before me asking as well. 2 copies in some time later, 1 was already reserved.
Then on to HMV. Girl gave me a 'I should make a sign or something' look, and explained possibly something in later, delivery can be as late as 4pm.
Last stop in town, the other branch of Game, 3 copies just arrived, all pre-ordered by people. he said maybe check back later in case they had more than it said but I know that usually stuff goes missing from shipments, not added.
Checked out the Game store my way, retail park jobbie, 1 copy in later, also pre-ordered.
Went to McD's for breakfast and ordered a copy from Game online - the same place I cancelled from about 2 months ago.
At least I got my breakfast.
n.b. noted re gameplay.co.uk, I guess I'll stick to Game, Shopto, Amazon or Gameplay for future releases that I care about.
In this life you are nothing without someone else to think so.
