Considering there doesnt seem to be a delay on swinging your weapon except for the animation delay. Also spamming attacks just drains your stamina to nothing. So basically haste will be non existant in FFXIV? That seems weird to me because haste and attack delay exists in almost every RPG ive played by square enix.

No. Lancer even has an ability that is like haste. Increases stamina regeneration.

If you spam your abilities you will quickly run out of stamian and have to sit there doing nothing while it recharges. Haster would act like that, recharging stamina faster.

I guess it could enhance your stamina regeneration or something. Always loved haste spells, in basically all games I've played, so I hope they have some form of it in XIV as well.

EDIT: Was beat to it heh.

I really wish they had just called Stamina the "ATB Meter" I'll always call it that, because that's basically what it is. And just like in every Final Fantasy that featured the ATB system, it will cause the meter to rise faster. If anything haste will be even better in FFXIV than it was in FFXI, though I'm hoping the itemization is better so it doesn't become such a broken stat.

As others have said, my money's on "+max stamina" and/or "+stamina regeneration" as this game's "haste".

The real clue is, how does slow work? I had it used on me by dodos but am always too busy getting my *** handed to me to notice what exactly it slows down. Anyone know? Whatever slow slows down, "haste" will speed up.

Slow hugely slows your stamina regeneration down. I would say 200% slower at a guess, so for sure Haste will be the opposite and speed up the stamina bar.

Decreased stamina regen. It felt like a mini-weakness and it was terrible.

I agree with the faster stamina regeneration, but it could also be used to decrease recast times as well. Just depends.

Offtopic question: Was there any relation noticed between the stamina bar and the vitality stat?

None, and a good thing. It would make the Vit stat a horribly broken stat.

I just hope we won't get obsessed with it like we are in XI. We rely too much on Haste for everything it's ridiculous.

Oh come on... that 2% increase in haste means you swing your great axe .1 seconds faster, that means you swing 10 times a full second before someone without 2% haste! IT'S BETTER!

If it only effects stamina recharge rate, the level of effect haste will have will be dependent on how much stamina your attacks cost. Once haste increases your stamina so fast that even the most stamina costly commands can be used indefinitely, any additional haste may be worthless.

Does it also effect recast/reuse timers?
