I know im not the only one that is going to be tossing and turning in bed for hours tonight unable to sleep due to the excitement of whats to come tomorrow. Lucky for me i work from 4am til 10am tomorrow, so i can get the game right as the EB Games store opens... but what to do from now til then!! Maybe a heavy dose of sleeping pills now will do the trick? :D

Midnight release is the only way to get some sleep on a night like this. And I'm not talking about going to Gamestop to pick up your copy at 12AM.

I will sleep well because I have to wake up at 5am tomorrow for PT! In Academy until 5pm tomorrow anyways, so hopefully my game arrives, and is ready to be played tomorrow night!

Indeed, it's odd. I've looked forward to game releases before, but that 'Twas the Night Before Eorzea bit was spot on. I have that can't sleep, Christmas-like anticipation that's taking over...

I wrote this after closed beta ended, but it's just as applicable now:

Now that there is no more Phase 3 to support us, and another week at least until Open Beta begins, many people are finding themselves without anything to do to occupy themselves. Thus I thought I would help by providing some suggestions for those who need a life:

1: Troll the forums! A helpful suggestion: start posting in all threads that you love the surplus system and wish they would be even stricter about it. This is guaranteed to make you lots of friends and get you instant rate-ups.
2: Plan out your schedule in excruciating detail for when open beta does begin. Spamming through cutscenes will maximize your efficiency!
3: Run the benchmark at least twice per day to get your fix. Watching the cutscene over and over again is almost as good as being in-game!
3a: You scored less than 8000? Your video card sucks. Replace it immediately.
4: Put yourself into a medically-induced coma with express instructions not to be awoken until beta resumes.
5: Go outside and do things with other people. (NOTE: This is extremely dangerous and should ONLY be used if all other options have been exhausted.)

These are dire times, and we need to help each other out. Please, if someone you know is suffering from PBSD (Post-beta stress disorder), have them seek help.

Someone seems to be having fun with the down arrow in this thread. Does rating people down get us our Collector's Edition faster? Cause if it does I'm gonna go sub-default myself on every post!

Someone seems to be making the rounds through all the threads lol
Not sure which is worse, that or the fact that I'm spending enough time refreshing this site to notice -shrugs-
I should sleep...

You can't sleep because you're too excited to deal with slow update downloads and unexpected emergency maintenances tomorrow?

It's called ........ being an adult and keeping one's head. :O) I will close my eyes and be asleep within 5 minutes. How do I know this? Simple. I know that there's going to be a patch to download and then install ... maybe two! So I doubt I'll be able to get any play time in tomorrow. I HOPE that I'll be able to, but I'm going to say probably not. Knowing this puts my mind at ease.

I envy you, I have an overactive mind and can never sleep when I want to.

considering i will be back from gamestop at roughly 10:08am depending on traffic lights, that leaves me with just under 14hrs of "tomorrow" with which to install/patch im sure i will get some game time in at some point :P
