So, long time lurked, first time poster (since if you're not a half wit you can generally find what you need).
So after 3 or 4 years I finally created an account because I need to ask a question of the infinite wisdom that is the Internet.

I finally have my CE, what I don't have yet is the new HDD, Mobo, CPU, GFX and OS.

My question then, if I go ahead and install the game on my laptop (which I played beta on), is there anyway to 'reclaim' my software, as once I get my desktop bits the laptop won't be used for ffxiv?

Otherwise I'm looking at paying for a SE after the 30th when my parts arrive?
I did t really purchase CE for the extra days, but it'd be nice to play without having to buy another copy of the game, and I don't think I can wait.

Any suggestions, or am I doomed to buy 2 versions?

You can install it on whatever you want. I had my FFXI on like 4 PC's.

You just won't be able to log in on both at the same time.

You can install your game on as many computers as you wish.

I remember with FFXI that as long as the system you were playing on had the game installed, and you inputted your POL (SE account now???) account and pass at login you could play anywhere essentially. Not sure if this applies to FFXIV but I would assume that SE would manage this in a similar way.

Just install it on you new machine when you get it. It's not Windows; SE doesn't log your hardware specs and tie it to your license. As long as you remember your login information, you're fine.
